Located in Newport News, VA, we are a 450-bed level II trauma facility with a level III NICU and multiple ICUs. As a respiratory therapist at RRMC, you'll receive 8-12 weeks of comprehensive orientation, training in our respiratory-driven protocols. Post-training, you'll work alongside a dedicated team to provide exceptional care to our patients.
We pride ourselves on offering new team members a robust clinical foundation, fostering growth as clinicians and critical thinkers. Our clinical ladder supports your professional development, including obtaining your Advanced Airway Management certification.
We understand the importance of work/life balance, offering open self-scheduling and every third weekend rotation. Plus, we're currently offering a $20,000 signing bonus for a two-year contract, paid in increments. Relocation allowances are available for qualifying candidates.
Our benefits package includes a 403B retirement plan, education reimbursement, advanced certification reimbursement, and paid time off.
What you will do
Responsible for assessing, diagnosing, implementing, and evaluating the treatment and procedures that contribute to the Respiratory Care Plan. Completes all documentation and assures all orders are current, completed or discontinued. Participates and assists in meetings, projects and in-services relative to improvement of RHS Respiratory Care Services. Utilizes proper infection control techniques in performance of duties and in accordance with departmental procedures. Works with physicians and nurses to create treatment plans. Evaluates progress of the treatment. Qualifications
Education
Associates Degree, Respiratory Therapy or Related Field (Required) or Bachelors Degree, Respiratory Therapy or Related Field (Preferred) Experience
1 year Respiratory Therapist experience (Preferred) Licenses and Certifications
Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) - The National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) RCP License with the Virginia Department of Health Professions Upon Hire(Required) and Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) - The National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) Upon Hire(Required) and CPR/BLS Certification - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) Upon Hire(Required) and ACLS Provider - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) within 1 Year(Required)
