Summary The Associate Director Global Oncology Strategic Planning provides strategic insights and direction on the short and long term potential for the Global DS Pipeline compounds and launched brands. The role will be responsible for the development and maintenance of Short to Long Term Forecasts for the consolidated Global Oncology Portfolio to inform key Business Planning processes such as Mid Term Plan (MTP), Long Term planning, and 3 Year Rolling Forecast. The position will be the Lead on behalf of the Business Strategy and Analytics (BSA) team and OBU (Oncology Business Unit) to provide both Financial and Strategic input into the annual R&D Pipeline prioritization process to ensure DS's R&D resources are appropriately invested. The position will also serve as the Lead in coordinating and compiling Quarterly Business Reviews (QBR) on behalf of OBU that will serve as key performance updates to Investor Relations to prepare Sr. Leadership for Earnings calls. The position will play a lead role in ensuring consistency and application of key macro forecast assumptions at a Tumor/Disease level and that best practices are developed and shared across the Global and Regional Forecasting teams where appropriate. The successful candidate must be able to build trustworthy business relationships with multiple internal stakeholders, have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and also have strong background in Oncology. Responsibilities - Business Planning Support: Ensure OBU produces Mid and Long Term Global Forecasts post key Aligned Forecast (AF), 3 Year Rolling Forecast (3RF), Prioritization updates to assist OBU Leadership and Corporate Strategy identify key risks and opportunities that may require Strategic direction updates. - Understanding the Market: Continuously monitor global market trends including multichannel communication and competitive intelligence relevant for the DS Oncology pipeline compounds launched brands, ensure key events that would be material to DS Oncology short and long term Revenue projections are tracked and ensure implications are assessed and communicated on timely manner - Clinical Development Life Cycle Management Decision Support: Be the key point of contact for the OBU/BSA team for the RD Prioritization planning process through the delivery of Revenue Forecasts and NPV/eNPVs for all the applicable Registrational Trials being considered for RD prioritization. Coordinate and lead meetings to gain OBU leadership consensus on Commercial input and prioritization rankings via presentation of Forecasts/Assumptions/NPVs and comparative Clinical value where possible. Lead BSA Forecasting team members through the process and ensure deliverables are understood and delivered within key timelines. - Quarterly Business Reviews: Develop Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) overview for Investor Relations and OBU to support Earnings Call preparation by liaising with Regional Marketing/Insights teams to compile Brand Performance for Revenues and other KPIs, develop key messages/narratives to provide appropriate context to Brand/OBU performance. Ensure the process can accommodate growing DS portfolio and ensure appropriate KPI tracking in place with Regions for new Product and/or Indication launches. - Forecast Assumption standardization – Ensure key Macro assumptions (EPI, Competitive Landscape, Current Market Trends) are being used consistently by all BSA/NPP Forecasting teams, ensure comparative analysis in place to identify areas for adjustment and ensure total Portfolio Revenue outlook isn’t overstated. Ensure external sources are used to affirm reasonability of Forecasts Qualifications: Successful candidates will be able to meet the qualifications below with or without a reasonable accommodation. Education Qualifications (from an accredited college or university) - Bachelor's Degree in health sciences, business or marketing required - MBA MS, or PhD or other advanced degree is strongly preferred Experience Qualifications - 7 or More Years in Market Research, Forecasting, and/or Secondary Analytical experience in Pharma/Biotech along with direct experience in Competitive Intelligence and translating required - 4 or More Years Oncology or hematology experience preferred - Global or regional launch experience preferred - Working on Alliance preferred - International business experiences such as having worked in multiple regions and/or worked as Global Team member preferred Travel Ability to travel up to 20% Global and Domestic Daiichi Sankyo, Inc. is an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer.
