We also use applied technology expertise to serve the defense, entertainment, material handling, aerospace, science, and renewable energy industries.Position Summary The Principal Project Engineer leads a cross-functional engineering team to complete a project within cost, schedule, and technical targets.  The Principal Project Engineer provides subject matter expertise to programs from an overall systems perspective and coordinates various interface activities specific to a program. The Principal Project Engineer also lends support to the Project Engineering Manager in achieving business and group goals. Annualized pay rate for this position is $170,000 to $190,000.Duties & Responsibilities THE SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:• Analyze user requirements and develop high level system architecture.• Identify and develop execution plans to manage functional and system interfaces.• Collaborate and assist Bids and Proposals group in developing engineering budgets, baseline schedule, and technical content for proposals.• Serves as the technical point of contact (both customer-facing and internal) for the project.• Develop and implement a process to forecast engineering hours.• Monitor and maintain project execution and productivity metrics and implement corrective actions as needed.• Lead the management of technical risk across the project and the development of mitigation plans.• Reviews technical work products and ensures company and industry best practices are utilized.• Participate and assist in achieving engineering continuous improvement objectives and goals.• Pitch in on project work if, and when, needed.• Travel, either domestic or international, when required.Qualifications ESSENTIAL:• Advanced degree in any engineering discipline from an accredited institution.• Minimum 15 years-experience in Engineering.• Minimum 8 years’ experience in Project Engineering.• At least 5 years-experience working with ROV systems.• Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Project Engineering Lead. • Broad knowledge of various engineering disciplines including Mechanical, Electrical, Software and Systems.• Experience working in a diverse, multi-functional, and fast-paced environment.• Experience leading an engineering team in a remote and hybrid working environment.• Experience implementing and maintaining a variety of project management methodologies to include Waterfall, Agile, and Scrum.• Must have a US Government DOD Security Clearance.• Knowledge and/or experience in subsea engineering.• Knowledge and/or experience in tethered or untethered underwater vehicles.• Knowledge and/or experience working in a manufacturing and assembly environment.• Demonstrated ability to:o Communicate effectively with stakeholders.o Present information to stakeholders.o Develop tools for project engineering needs.o Use standard Microsoft business applications.o Learn and conform to industry standards (MIL, ABS, etc.).DESIRED:• Training in fundamentals of engineering management.Additional Information This position is Hybrid - Remote and will require commuting to a designated office.
