ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Gather all the necessary project information from the following available resources: Scope of Work documents written by others Project plans and specifications Existing control system drawings Site visits Utilize, as appropriate, project performance from previous projects. Must utilize skills, experience, and independent judgment to assist in the selection of devices, components to be used in a project, as well as determination of labor hours. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and analytical skills. Communicate with vendors and subcontractors to obtain pricing and installation quotes. Ability to effectively present information in various forms. Take-off and estimating of projects. Maintain company profit margins in all estimates and proposals. Evaluates design alternatives for cost, profitability, and system performance. Participate in project kickoff meetings, and work in concert with other departments to ensure the success and profitability of the project. Prepare project bid documents and alternative bid documents. Prepare all cost estimates in CBRE's estimating tools. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES No formal supervisory responsibilities in this position. Provides informal assistance such as technical guidance, and/or training to coworkers. May coordinate and assign tasks to co-workers within a work unit and/or project. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Design/Engineering Technology, or equivalent experience specific to this role.
