NOW HIRING!!! Leading Manufacturing company in Chicago, IL area is seeking experienced Maintenance Mechanics/Technicians to repair and perform maintenance fixtures on various warehouse machinery. This position is a temp to hire opportunity, payrate based on prior experience, education/or certification. All Entry level maintenance technicians are welcomed to apply. Company is seeking full-time, maintenance mechanics with at least 2 or more years of experienced preferred. Electrical background a plus.
Open Positions:
- 1st Shift: 6am - 2pm - OPEN
- 2nd Shift: 2pm - 10pm - OPEN
- 3rd Shift: 10pm - 6am - OPEN
Payrate Range: $25-28 per hour starting, payrate based on candidates' level of experience (entry level vs expert).
Skills and Requirements:
- Education
- 2 years of experience in maintenance tech
- Bilingual Speakers: English and Spanish preferred
- Some experience in food manufacturing industry
- Strong mechanical knowledge and aptitude
- Proficiency in English (both written and verbal)
- Experience with electrical systems, including reading schematics and working with logic controllers
- Ability to weld and fabricate parts as needed
- Familiarity with CMMS software
Job Summary: Maintenance Mechanic position requires professional level preventative machine mechanical repair experience but is NOT limited to the following:
- Perform highly diversified maintenance repairs on manufacturing machinery, electrical repairs, compressors systems/or other warehouse machinery
- General Maintenance for the machines we use, Strapping machine, Horizontal, vertical, and handheld units, Shrink tunnels, shrink machines, and seal press machines, Conveyers, powered and non-powered
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues
- Repair or replace defective components using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment
- Fabricate parts as needed to complete repair
- Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and logic controller
- Utilize a CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to track work orders and document maintenance activities
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance performed and parts used
- Assist in developing preventive maintenance schedules
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a safe work environment
- Work on new installations of all powered industrial equipment/Electrical and non-electrical repairs and troubleshooting throughout facility
- Perform all work as assigned while adhering to established standards associated with workmanship and safety, OSHA, GMPs ect.
- Responsible for the safe and dependable operating condition of all equipment in the facility.
- Dismantling and re-assembly of equipment to perform repairs, cleaning
- Performs all work safely and efficiently per safety standards
