Summary/Objective

Family-owned and operated for five generations, Staffer Glove & Safety, a distributor leader in the safety and PPE products industry is looking for a Warehouse Associate and Backup Driver to join our team in Red Hill, PA. Responsible for delivering, stocking, and inventory of Customer’s Vending and/or Vendor Managed Inventory. The duties include generating product orders, taking notes on issues and existing products, and managing vending machine and/or vendor managed inventory. All notes taken are channeled to the appropriate Stauffer Team Member.  At the discretion of the Warehouse Manager, this position will also perform picking, packing, shipping, and receiving duties in the Stauffer warehouse.


This is a full-time position working Monday through Friday. Shift times are based on business needs and specific to each branch location.

Essential Functions

  • Responsible for providing onsite VMI service support to the customer as defined by the Stauffer Account Manager and Customer. Support includes troubleshooting of vending machines. Know the appropriate Stauffer Team Member to channel customer issues and concerns to.
  • Responsible for entering purchase requisitions for existing products compiled from the customer’s vending machine(s) and/or vendor managed inventory order points. 
  • Ensure that customers’ orders are fulfilled in an accurate and timely manner and research any orders that are delayed for the customer.
  • Prepare orders, deliver, and stock product at the customer’s site.
  • Communicate any customer inquiries, concerns, and requests to the Branch Manager in a timely manner.
  • Maintain the organization and cleanliness of vendor managed inventory areas, including inventory placement, inventory identification, labeling, reconcile discrepancies, ensure the inventory is accurate and fulfills the assigned order points.
  • Ensure established min and max inventory levels are accurate and that any product below the required min level is replenished.   
  • Provide back up coverage for route deliveries and warehouse support as required (this may vary depending on the branch location).
  • Responsible for operating company vehicle in a safe manner following all state and federal laws.
  • Responsible for completing daily vehicle inspection logs, record mileage if applicable and report immediately any maintenance or vehicle mechanical issues.

  • This job operates in a warehouse and manufacturing environment. This role routinely uses standard warehouse equipment such as forklifts, rolling ladders, and other material handling tools. It is also required to wear personal protection equipment when entering any area (including customer facilities) that requires specific PPE.  Use of office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  • Ability to bend, stoop, lift up to 65 lbs., climb ladders, and work on material handling equipment such as forklifts and other moving apparatus.
  • Ability to walk long distances and climb multiple flights of stairs
  • Work in an uncontrolled temperature environment and in a controlled temperature environment.
  • If required at the branch location, this position requires that an individual is able to obtain a medical certification according to DOT regulations and must maintain the certification in order to perform the essential duties of this position.

Travel

  • Route deliveries as needed

Required Education and Experience

  • Minimum High School degree or GED equivalent.
  • Have knowledge and minimum 1-year experience with shipping and receiving processes and able to provide timely and accurate shipments and receiving.
  • Experience operating forklift equipment, pallet jacks and company vehicle
  • Valid driver’s license

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Prefer 2 or more years’ experience large distribution inventory environments.
  • Knowledge or experience working with a warehouse management system.
