Job Title: Warehouse Forklift Operator
Department: Warehouse Cooler & Yardmen
Salary Level: Hourly
Reports To: Fleet & Warehouse Manager
SUMMARY: The Warehouse Forklift Operator is responsible for operating a forklift throughout the warehouse while following all applicable safety regulations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Follow all safety, food safety, & Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) rules and regulations.
- Accurately complete forklift inspection sheet and clean-up assignment checklist.
- Perform forklift inspection at the start of each shift.
- Ability to use the Radio Frequency (RF) system to receive and stock our product or any outside vendor product using the “Movement” function of the RF system. Use the “Pick/Gather” function to pre-stage product for loads when needed.
- Responsible for unloading all incoming shipments correctly and properly filling out inbound shipping reports.
- Responsible for loading product onto trailer for shipping to our customers using the RF system.
- Accurately compare all quantities to packing list and report and damaged product to quality control.
- Accurately scan product bar codes and complete receiving forms for shipping office.
- Responsible for ensuring that all areas of the warehouse are kept clean and orderly.
- Work in a safe manner by following all company rules and regulations as instructed during job orientation and yearly required safety training.
- Identify issues and communicate them promptly to the Production Supervisor for assistance.
- All other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES None
WORK INSTRUCTIONS TO POSITION SOPs are critical to meet customer specifications and maintenance of food safety, quality and process efficiency. Operator’s manual available on each line.
WORK SAFETY Ensures that all tasks and functions of position are performed in a safe manner at all times and that all procedures and requirements are properly followed to accomplish assigned tasks.
FOOD SAFETY/QUALITY Responsible for food safety and quality as well as reporting food safety and quality problems to personnel with authority if unable to initiate action.
BACKUP COVERAGE In the absence of this position, another qualified Forklift Operator or Back-up Forklift Operator shall cover the absence.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE HS Diploma or equivalent. Must be able to attend all job related training classes to increase job knowledge and improve job performance. This also encourages confidence and sense of accomplishment.
LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and understand standard operating procedures and customer specifications. Able to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to calculate figures and amounts using calculator.
REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
COMPUTER SKILLS Basic computer skills and RF system.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Successful completion of company forklift certification. Valid Driver’s License.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS As required to attend off site training.
