Data Analyst
Location: Remote
Duration: 6 months
We are looking for a Business functional data analyst who can help drive business intelligence efforts and support the growth of the Business Process and Finance teams. This role provides an opportunity to solve the company's most interesting problems and develop new business strategies.
Responsibilities:
Functional Business Data responsibilities:
• Provide data-driven insights related to Finance business performance
• Advice and develop strategies for strategic and operational improvements based on insights.
• Recommend, develop , and utilize KPI, Business performance data, industry trends, and customer information to develop analytical tools, reports, and models across Finance organizations ( FP&A, Revenue, Accounting) to inform and support decision-making.
• Consult with stakeholders to understand business models, objectives, issues, and challenges that analytics and support.
• Develops Finance analytics roadmap.
• Help develop Finance data strategies for QTC, S2P, Revenue, FP&A functions, and process segments.
• Actively participate in the development of Finance Business Transformation best practices.
Data Model and Data analysis Responsibilities
• Develop standards and data collection processes, data prep processes, to support robust analytics and reporting data pipelines.
• Build statistical methods, modeling, analytical methodologies to support business.
• Enforce and maintain standardized definition of Finance KPIs in the evolving business model.
• Regularly mine data from large SQL databases and different sources.
• Build models that lead to better insights and business understanding.
• Design and maintain reports/dashboards and track and communicate key performance indicators.
• Assure quality and data integrity for revenue and business development.
• Build logical and physical data models with Facts and dimensions,
aggregates in Snowflake.
• Interact with data source owners and participate in developing project
plans.
• Provide original insights beyond the scope of supporting reactive requests.
• Support ongoing analysis of business performance trends and insights
required to inform decisions.
• Design and build new dashboards to monitor performance metrics; maintain existing dashboards for accuracy and incorporate changes in the business.
• Build a strong relationship with data engineering to understand data availability, accuracy, and consistency; comfortable providing specifications for data tracking and data warehouse needs.
• Proactively perform data exploration to discover actionable insights.
• Present your research and insights to all levels of the company clearly and concisely.
• Collaborate with IT team and other cross functional systems teams during design and support implementation of business solutions.
• Responsible for designing, monitoring, measuring, and improving the quality of master data.
Visualization Responsibilities
• Develop advanced, user-friendly dashboards and reports with a special focus on corporate finance, leveraging deep Tableau expertise to design templates and visualize complex data for business and non-technical users, ensuring data accuracy and timely availability.
• Design, construct, install, and maintain large-scale processing systems and infrastructure, incorporating best practices in data visualization and dashboard creation using Tableau to enhance data comprehension and decision-making processes.
• Actively engage with various departments to gather detailed requirements and deliver bespoke Business Intelligence (BI) solutions that elevate business operations, employing creative storytelling techniques to present data in an insightful and impactful manner.
• Master and utilize Snowflake for understanding, analyzing, and connecting complex datasets from diverse sources, extracting meaningful insights with an emphasis on visually engaging and interactive Tableau dashboards.
• Collaborate closely with IT and Finance departments to ensure seamless integration and alignment of BI solutions with corporate goals and objectives, leveraging Tableau to synthesize complex financial data into compelling narratives.
• Provide expert support and training to end-users on developed BI solutions, focusing on maximizing the potential of Tableau for data exploration and storytelling, and fostering a data-driven culture within the organization.
• Develop comprehensive documentation and best practices, ensuring adherence to data management and visualization standards, with a special focus on advancing Tableau usage and capabilities within the organization.
• Drive the BI strategy and related projects as a subject matter expert, championing the use of Tableau for innovative data visualization and storytelling, and pioneering new ways to present complex data to inform strategic decisions.
Qualifications
• Comprehensive and deep expertise in the QTC, Revenue, FP&A, Tax, S2P, Accounting process segments.
• Strong background understanding of corporate finance.
• Functional and technical expertise in Oracle Fusion Cloud, Sales Force, Revpro.
• Experience as a Business and Data analyst in the following areas: finance, accounting, QTC and non-QTC
• Exposure to Statistics, Econometrics, Data Science, and Machine Learning concepts and tools.
• Experience in data architecture, data modeling, designing and data analysis with conceptual, logical, and physical modeling for OLAP and Snowflake data warehousing.
• Experience in Normalization of OLTP an denormalization of entities for Snowflake Data warehousing
• Experience ins Data governance and master data management
• Experience in SQL, PL/SQL packages, functions, stored procedures, triggers
• Understand, analyze, and connect complex datasets from various sources, especially using Snowflake, to extract meaningful insights.
• Experience in BI/DW solutions (ETL, Data mart, OLAP) and BI reporting tools like Tableau.
• Engineering/technical background analyzing large data sets.
• 10+ years of analytical experience and comfortable working with large data sets Excellent programming logic with comprehension of scripting language (i.e., SQL, Python, JavaScript etc.)
• Extensive experience with SQL is critical; additional experience with BI & visualization tools is a strong plus (i.e., Tableau, Looker)
• Comfortable working with MS Excel and MS PowerPoint
• Must be intellectually curious, eager to learn, self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to multi-task
• Able to operate with openness and efficiency with one or more SDLC methodologies (e.g., Scrum)
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
• Deep experience in building Data and analytics stories with visuals dashboards.
