Position: Data Governance Analyst
Location: Jackson, MS
Role and Responsibilities: As a Data Governance Analyst you will be responsible for supporting SFBLI's Data Governance policies and procedures through technical platforms including, but not limited to, data management software, data access software, and data classification software. This position will help develop and implement process workflows, implement code/test cases, and technical guides for data governance. This position will also assist in the validation and accuracy of insights. This position will serve as the subject matter expert for all digital platforms falling under Data Governance ownership.

Position: Data Governance Analyst

Role and Responsibilities: As a Data Governance Analyst you will be responsible for supporting SFBLI's Data Governance policies and procedures through technical platforms including, but not limited to, data management software, data access software, and data classification software. This position will help develop and implement process workflows, implement code/test cases, and technical guides for data governance. This position will also assist in the validation and accuracy of insights. This position will serve as the subject matter expert for all digital platforms falling under Data Governance ownership.
Your responsibilities will include:
- With strong guidance from the Data Governance Team, develop and implement data governance application strategies across SFBLI
- Learn and grow a thorough technical understanding for all Data Governance integrated data platforms.
- Use SQL, VQL, and other applicable programming languages.
- Develop, document, and maintain functional test cases and other test artifacts such as data validation and scripts.
- Function as an expert for data governance technical questions across the organization.
- Develop a working knowledge of data quality, data standardization, and business vocabulary as it applies to data quality tools and other integrated data platforms.
- Use business intelligence tools such as reporting software and visualization tools.
- Bachelor's degree (with emphasis on Computer Science, Information Systems, or Mathematics preferred).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills presenting to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner.
- Strong attention to detail with drive for results
- Ability to establish measurable outcomes and create processes for monitoring progress towards established goals.
- Ability to make well-informed, effective, and timely decisions, even when data is limited, or solutions produce unpleasant consequences; perceive the impact and implications of decisions
