Position Summary The Data Manager is a key part of the Data Team at FirstLine Schools, and plays an important role in ensuring effective and efficient use of data and systems to help drive results. The Data Manager serves as the day to day administrator and provides end user supports for key teacher-facing and leader-facing student data systems. The Data Manager develops, maintains and documents a suite of trainings, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and reports for teachers and leaders. The Data Manager also generates ad-hoc analyses as requested to support the decision making of FirstLine's leadership. Key Responsibilities Data Systems Training Acts as PowerSchool super user, with extensive knowledge of PowerSchool products Develops and delivers high-quality trainings to key staff in PowerSchool SIS, PowerTeacher, and Kickboard Other training and support as needed Systems Administration Manages user accounts for end users of student data systems Leads the data department helpdesk support system to provide timely, high quality support to end users Monitors student information systems to ensure high levels of data integrity Manages all aspects of Clever - including staff and student access to blended learning programs, working with vendors in managing licenses, and ensuring adherence to data sharing agreements Leads root cause analysis of issues impacting data integrity; makes recommendations for repairs and manage vendors to successfully deploy solutions Designs, documents and implements systems maintenance procedures and protocols, including the creation and revision of standard operating procedures (SOPs) Effectively communicates and collaborates with end users to ensure successful use of data systems Data Reporting Produces management reports to track progress toward organizational goals Generates summary reports with key organizational performance indicators Manages and maintains FLS internal dashboards and trackers, in collaboration with key network leaders Cross-Functional Projects Manages multiple large-scale, long-term projects with stakeholders across the organization, including school leaders, network staff, and other data department members Other duties as assigned Education & Experience Bachelor's degree required At least three (3) years experience working in schools with data required Expert level user in spreadsheet software (Excel/Google Sheets) Demonstrated ability to complete complex data analyses and models Strong analytical background with experience managing and analyzing large volumes of data Experience managing multiple workstreams in a fast-moving environment required Experience with database administration required Experience with PowerSchool a plus Experience teaching in K-12 education a plus Experience with SQL a plus Commitment to FirstLine Schools' mission and vision Demonstrated commitment to providing outstanding schools for all students Desired Qualities & Characteristics: Believe in every student's ability to achieve in a rigorous college or career prep curriculum Achieve results based on agreed-upon expectations Take personal responsibility Highly detail-oriented Collaborate effectively with a range of stakeholders Share a commitment to creating great schools in New Orleans Strong written and verbal communication skills Model the FirstLine values of Service, Learning, Collaboration, Results and Fun Physical Requirements: Must be able to perform all required job functions with reasonable accommodations, if necessary.
