We are seeking an entry-level Junior Analyst to support the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Office of Intelligence and Analysis (I&A). This role requires individuals who can conduct organizational studies, design systems and procedures, and assist in implementing policies and strategies relevant to the intelligence domain. The Junior Analyst will provide essential support in research, data analysis, process evaluation, and program documentation. The candidate should have strong organizational skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat, and a commitment to ensuring operational efficiency for DHS I&A initiatives.


Specific Responsibilities

  • Assist in conducting organizational studies, work simplification efforts, and evaluations to enhance operational efficiency for DHS I&A.
  • Provide support in the development of policies, plans, and strategies, ensuring that intelligence operations are streamlined and effective.
  • Collect and analyze data to identify areas for process improvement. Assist in the evaluation and implementation of systems or processes aligned with DHS I&A’s goals.
  • Assist in creating various program-related work products, including policies, procedures, strategies, reports, presentations, plans, and meeting minutes, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Work closely with internal and external stakeholders, including state and local law enforcement agencies, to support program initiatives.
  • Help in the collection and analysis of business requirements and support the development of systems or processes that meet program objectives.
  • Generate program performance measures and metrics to assess and monitor the progress and outcomes of ongoing initiatives.
  • Assist in providing basic information technology analysis, supporting systems related to the Homeland Security Information Network (HSIN) and SharePoint, and ensuring compliance with intelligence community standards.


Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility is required.
  • 0-2 years of relevant experience in business or program analysis.
  • 2 years’ experience working with state and local law enforcement.
  • Experience supporting federal programs, initiatives, or events.
  • Experience with SharePoint and the Homeland Security Information Network (HSIN), with knowledge of the HSIN-Intel platform.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Basic analytical skills, with the ability to organize and interpret data.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to assist in preparing reports and presentations.
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in documentation and reporting.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities to manage multiple tasks effectively.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working within the intelligence community or knowledge of DHS operations.
  • Familiarity with research and analysis techniques in an intelligence or law enforcement setting.
  • Experience with information technology support in a program or operational setting.

Travel

  • Up to 10% Occasional travel may be required to attend meetings and events with federal, state, and local stakeholders.
