We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Project Analyst with a strong focus on project documentation and a supporting role in project and applications support. This role is essential for ensuring that all project-related documentation is accurate, thorough, and accessible for stakeholders. The Project Analyst will work closely with cross-functional teams, including project managers, application owners, developers, and IT support teams, to document requirements, business processes, and project milestones.
It involves supporting strategic and tactical initiatives, collaborating closely with Fleet Finance and the Financial Analytics team to formulate key strategic initiatives based on thorough analysis and comprehensive review of existing processes. Additionally, the role entails ensuring the successful delivery of projects in terms of functionality, quality, system performance, Quality Assurance, and technical documentation. Working in tandem with Operations and various teams across the enterprise, including IT, Finance, Hotel Operations, Guest Service Operations, Security Services, Guest Tech Operations among others, this role ensures alignment with corporate objectives and process standardization. The position also involves overseeing other resources involved in projects as necessary and actively seeking opportunities to collaborate with business units on significant strategic initiatives. This technical expert collaborates with GFIT, IT, Decision Support, business users, and other departments as required to facilitate the development and implementation of new business practices, with a primary focus on process enhancement, business process re-engineering, and managing communication from accounting systems perspective.
Essential Functions:
- Create and maintain detailed documentation for project requirements, including business requirements documents (BRDs), functional specifications, and user stories. Document workflows, data flows, and system processes to provide a clear understanding of business requirements and system functionality. Ensure project documentation is complete, accurate, and updated regularly to reflect any changes in project scope or requirements. Work with stakeholders to gather, analyze, and prioritize business requirements for new initiatives and system enhancements. Document and organize requirements in a structured manner, ensuring alignment with project goals and timelines. Conduct requirement validation sessions with stakeholders to confirm understanding and agreement on deliverables. Assist in defining the business problem and the business solution in line with appropriate best practice, governance standards and methodologies. Develop and execute test cases to validate that system changes meet the specified requirements.
- Identify best, efficient, and cost beneficial technical solutions when business processes are being implemented and require input or output from critical systems supporting Fleet Accounting Systems operations. Assist in minor system analysis tasks, including assessing current system functionalities and identifying areas for improvement. Work with technical teams to understand system limitations and provide input on feasible solutions for project requirements. Conduct preliminary data analysis and process mapping to support documentation efforts. Work closely with IT and development teams to analyze and design system solutions that align with business objectives. Create data flow diagrams, process models, and system architectures to support the development and integration of new functionalities.
- Serve as subject matter expert (SME) for project business requirements; Collaborate with testing teams to develop test cases and ensure they align with documented requirements. Participate in user acceptance testing (UAT) by providing documentation and clarification as needed to support end-user testing efforts. Track and document test results, issues, and resolutions to ensure quality standards are met. Act as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring clear and consistent communication. Facilitate regular meetings with project teams to provide updates on documentation status, gather additional input, and clarify requirements. Maintain an organized repository of project documentation accessible to all relevant stakeholders. Participate in meetings to understand business requirements to enhance systems Translate complex business requirements into technical requirements and specifications, contributing to system architectural design and development. Coordinate user acceptance testing (UAT) and provide support to end-users during testing phases. Document and track issues, working with technical teams to resolve bugs and defects. Develop and deliver training materials to support end-users and ensure successful adoption of system changes.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, IT, Accounting, Finance, or related field of study; or any combination of relevant background, skills and experience.
- PMP preferred.
- Technical Experience in business/financial planning and analysis processes with a working knowledge in accounting principles and issues. Experience in project management and quality assurance.
- Knowledge of implementation lifecycle, including details of requirements, process validation, Design, configuration, build and test phases.
- Shipboard finance experience preferred.
- Solid technical background, with understanding or hands-on experience in software development. Proven working experience as a project/program manager in the Finance and/or information technology sector. Proven experience in managing requirements gathering process. Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills.
- Practical experience testing of enterprise size financial applications is required. Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication and planning skills. Able to multi-task, work independently and balance requests at peak workloads (or change gears quickly for important requests) from various departments and upper management. The hourly rate for this position is $50-$55, paid every Friday.
