Job Description
(DASN AP&B) is the principal advisor and coordinator for the Assistant Secretary of the Navy (Research, Development, and Acquisition) (ASN (RDA)), on matters pertaining to Acquisition Policy, to include Earned Value Management and Acquisition Reporting; Programming, Planning, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) and Congressional Affairs; as well as Corporate Operations support to the OASN (RDA).
Mandatory Requirement: Applicants must have an active Interim Secret DoD clearance at a minimum, with final Secret preferred.

Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Very detail-oriented, able to handle multiple ongoing actions at once, and support the Action Officers in reviewing documents, preparing spreadsheets, and preparing briefs. Candidates must excel in critical thinking and analysis and are also pro-active. The right candidate will have a background in acquisition policy and/or data analytics, be a quick study, work to understand the office, seek out ways to assist, and not simply wait to be assigned tasks. Telework may be permitted on a situational basis.
Success for working in this position requires:
- Need for strong writing skills/ability to write talking points,
- A more experienced candidate required for this position (e.g., be able to listen to technical information that regularly changes (e.g., technology/supply chain/operational security), be able to synthesize that information, and then be able to write about it for the newsletter),
- Needs to be a self-starter in the sense that they should know what the action items are coming out of a meeting, show initiative, and remind the government client on open action items,
- Need for understanding and compiling metrics,
- Attend meetings and provide minutes for government approval,
- Must have experience and be proficient with Microsoft Office graphic and office automation tools (including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and produce documents without errors,
- Possess experience and knowledge in proofreading and editing highly technical documents which were created by others to ensure proper format, grammar, and style,
- Must possess excellent communication, customer service, and telephone skills and work with others at all levels, as a team member,
- Strong problem-solving and strategic planning skills,
- High degree of attention to detail and accuracy in completing assignments, including, proofreading, grammar, and analytical skills, and
- Ability to work with sensitive and confidential information.
Education and Experience:
- Minimum of a High School Diploma is required.
