Title: Lead Security Engineer Location: Regional, Midwest Area Employment Type: Full-Time/Perm Description: • The Lead Security Engineer is responsible for leading a team of security engineers, managing their performance, and working collaboratively with stakeholders across the organization. • This role involves promoting baseline security configurations for a variety of applications and platforms, and leveraging expertise in security practices to enhance the organization's security posture. • The engineer will guide the team with a focus on proactive risk management and strategic security planning. Primary Responsibilities: • Develop and implement advanced security measures to protect sensitive data and ensure regulatory compliance. • Mentor and lead the security engineering team, promoting a culture of continuous improvement. • Collaborate with senior leadership to establish and execute a comprehensive security strategy. • Guide and manage team performance, conducting regular reviews and fostering professional development. • Work cross-functionally with IT to provide secure business technology solutions. • Develop and enforce security policies, standards, and procedures. • Act as an escalation point for issues related to security controls and tools. • Collaborate with risk management teams to address and remediate security risks effectively. • Analyze and communicate vulnerability risks, providing expert recommendations. • Lead agile and scrum practices, including planning, standups, and sprint reviews. • Stay informed on emerging security technologies, threats, and industry trends. • Provide technical support for security projects and initiatives. • Educate employees on best practices for information security. Required Skills: • At least seven years of experience in cybersecurity, with a minimum of two to three years working with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure. • Proven leadership experience, including team coaching and performance management. • Strong communication skills, with the ability to create both technical documentation and user-friendly guides. • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience; security certifications like CISSP, GSEC, or CCSP are highly desirable. • Proficient in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Ruby, PowerShell, JavaScript). • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and frameworks, such as SOX, GLBA, CIS, ISO 27001, ITIL, or NIST. • Ability to anticipate threats and proactively implement controls. • Effective feedback and conflict management skills. • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. • Knowledge of IT security controls and infrastructure, with a focus on IAM processes. Desired Skills: • Experience in regulatory compliance and understanding various security frameworks. • Adaptable, with a history of integrity and a strong work ethic. • Proficient in conflict resolution and delivering quality solutions.
