We are seeking a detail-focused Accounting Clerk for our retail department located in WHITE PLAINS, New York. As an Accounting Clerk, you will be instrumental in managing customer accounts, processing their applications, and ensuring accurate records. This role is a short-term contract employment opportunity that entails responding to customer inquiries and taking appropriate actions on their accounts.

Responsibilities:

• Accurately process customer credit applications with efficiency
• Reconcile account statements regularly
• Upload processed data to relevant customer accounts
• Maintain precise records of customer credit details
• Resolve customer inquiries promptly and professionally
• Monitor customer accounts and initiate appropriate actions when necessary
• Utilize Excel to manage and process data efficiently
• Process invoices as part of the accounts payable function
• Perform data entry tasks as required
• Ensure account reconciliation is conducted consistently.• Proven experience as an Accounting Clerk in the retail industry
• Proficiency in Account Reconciliation to ensure financial accuracy
• Solid understanding and experience with Accounts Payable (AP) processes
• Excellent data entry skills for recording financial transactions
• Demonstrated ability in Invoice Processing to manage payments and expenditures
• Strong attention to detail and ability to spot numerical errors
• Proficiency with accounting software and other relevant computer applications
• Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with colleagues and vendors
• Basic understanding of accounting principles and regulations
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of financial information.
