King’s Seafood Company is seeking an energetic, experienced, and “seafood-loving” Accounting Manager ready to roll up their sleeves and be a key contributor to the company’s growth. The Accounting Manager will be responsible for overseeing and providing leadership for the company’s general accounting, internal and external audit, tax, and project accounting. In addition, the Accounting Manager will enjoy working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment where teamwork and communication skills are highly valued.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day financial activities, including daily sales entries, revenue reconciliation, and general ledger entries
  • Execute financial closing tasks, including the preparation and review of journal entries, account reconciliations, and in-depth analysis
  • Prepare accurate and timely consolidated financial statements in accordance with GAAP
  • Develop, enhance, and maintain policies and procedures to strengthen internal controls
  • Provide leadership, training, and development to accounting team members
  • Manage internal and external audits including financial, sales tax, and property tax
  • Identify opportunities to continuously improve and automate processes
  • Collaborate with other departments to safeguard company assets, streamline financial processes, improve efficiency, and ensure compliance
  • Assist with special projects and ad-hoc requests as necessary

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
  • Self-aware, coachable, and continuously seeking opportunity to grow
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business or equivalent required
  • 5+ years accounting experience, CPA or MBA preferred
  • Previous experience leading and developing a team a plus
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Collaborative and capable of building positive working relationships at all levels of organization
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint
