JOB SUMMARY:
The Accounting Supervisor is responsible for the oversight, coordination, and performance of the day-to-day accounting functions in the accounting department. The Accounting Supervisor will ensure that all responsibilities of the AP and AR Clerks are performed timely and accurately. This will include monitoring workload and providing training to staff when needed. The Accounting Supervisor will also assist the Assistant Controller and Controller with projects and tasks routine and non-routine in nature.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Accounting Supervisor will also assist the Assistant Controller and Controller with projects and tasks routine and non-routine in nature.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Process AIA billings and job receivable invoices.
- Provide prevailing wage reports for necessary jobs
- Responsible for timely payments to subcontractors
- Follow up on outstanding construction AR
- Monthly service and audit contract billings
- Correspond with customers, vendors, subcontractors and answer requests
- Assist project/service managers with accounting requests
- Assist in the month end financial close process
- Reconcile monthly credit card statement
- Enter into COINS ERP program construction job budgets and revisions
- Prepare and file monthly Sales and Use Tax
- Prepare and file quarterly Commercial Activity Tax
- Credit applications for new suppliers
- Upload Check Positive Pay into Huntington for AP and PR checks
- Monitor ACH Positive pay for authorized/unauthorized payments
- Maintain and oversee Fleet Gas Mastercard account
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide direct supervision of the accounting staff (3 AP Clerks and 1 AR Clerk)
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business management, preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working in an accounting, billing, or accounts receivable department
- Prior experience working in the construction industry required
- Prior experience processing AIA or other billings for Federal Government contracts required
- Prior experience supervising or leading others strongly preferred
- Prior experience with COINS ERP preferred
- Extensive knowledge of accounting and management principles and accounts payable
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written) and active listening skills
- Must exhibit strong leadership or supervisory skills
- Strong interpersonal skills; ability to foster and maintain positive working relationships with individuals internal and external to the company and from various backgrounds
- Strong organization skills with the ability to self-motivate and prioritize tasks; must demonstrate strong planning skills and be able to effectively manage own schedule with limited oversight
- Must be able to prepare professional written communications (emails, documents, etc.)
- Must demonstrate professionalism and tact in all interactions
- Demonstration of time-management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
- Good analytical skills; ability to analyze and process data; ability to evaluate problems and identify resolutions; must demonstrate sound judgement and good decision-making ability
- Proficient user of Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe PDF
- Ability to learn and operate new technology, systems, and programs quickly
- Ability to maintain satisfactory attendance
