Job Description
Robert Half is on the lookout for an experienced Accounting Manager to join our client's team in Southern Pines, North Carolina. In this role, you will be tasked with overseeing the accounting department to ensure the proper functioning of all accounting systems. You will be responsible for ensuring maintenance of internal controls, financial procedures, and generating critical financial reports.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee the functioning of the accounting department, ensuring all systems are properly maintained.
• Conduct thorough maintenance of internal controls and financial procedures.
• Generate month-end journal entries, closing entries, and general ledger reports.
• Monitor and ensure jobs are computer closed for direct costing within appropriate timeframes.
• Prepare weekly draw vs. cost reports for ongoing construction projects.
• Compile and analyze data to prepare special reports, summarizing information and identifying trends.
• Work closely with an external CPA firm for audits and tax return filings.
• Oversee the management and coordination of fiscal reporting activities, including revenue/expense and balance sheet reports.
• Manage month-end close process.
• Oversee inventory management and monitor prices.
• Manage payroll and cash flow while monitoring bank account balances.
• Work with an external CPA to ensure timely filing of income tax and payroll tax returns.
• Produce monthly financial statements for all entities, including income statement, balance sheet, sources and uses of cash statement, and gross profit report for each homebuilding entity.
• Attend and participate in regular team/management meetings.

Bachelors degree required.
Position requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in an accounting managerial or supervisory role
Proficiency in Month End Close operations is a must
Deep understanding and experience with General Ledger management
Familiarity with Job Cost processes is required
Experience in Inventory Accounting is a necessity
Ability to prepare and analyze Financial Statements is mandatory
