Senior Accounting Analyst Job at By Light Professional IT Services in McLean

Overview:

We are seeking a Senior Accounting Analyst to join the By Light team. The position will interact with many different parts of the organization including finance, HR, and program management. This is a highly dynamic and visible role for the right candidate with valuable experience only otherwise gained in a rotational program.

Responsibilities:

Project Accounting:

• Read and understand various By Light contracts, processes, and procedures to appropriately setup contracts in Deltek Costpoint
• Assist in developing an enterprise-wide strategy to setup and maintain project accounting records
  Work closely to coordinate with project managers and other stakeholders to ensure agreement on key contract terms and conditions for project setup.
• Support monthly close process by monitoring and maintaining contract master data
  

Accounting

• Support the month-end close and consolidation process, including inter-company activity
  Analyze monthly general ledger activity and prepare commentary for financial statement review
• Assist in monitoring / reporting accounting metrics and SLAs
• Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliation for review, and resolve issues as needed
• Other ad hoc accounting, billing, or reporting duties as assigned

Required Experience/Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in accounting or finance required
• Two or more years of related accounting experience in the government contracting industry
• One or more years of Deltek Costpoint experience
• Team player who is organized, proactive, self-directed, conscientious and assumes accountability and responsibility for specific performance and work product
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing
  Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and strong computer skills
