WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR As Lead, Lease Accounting, you will play a key role within the Controllership function responsible for the streamlined execution of lease processes and business operations in accordance with US GAAP and NIKE Accounting Policy. You will be responsible for leading team members through monthly close and delivering relevant lease reports, financial schedules, and disclosures required by the Controlling organization. You will actively collaborate and partner with finance and operations across Nike and Converse to enable and execute critical projects and initiatives impacting the real estate portfolio across our retail, workplace and supply chain strategies. NIKE’s lease technology and Global lease portfolio provide a number of opportunities to design, implement and support sustainable controlling processes to enable ongoing growth and complexity as Nike's strategic investment portfolio expands and scales to enable NIKE, Inc.'s growth trajectory. You will drive and support projects focused on implementing globally standardized policies, processes, and controls. WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON In this role your key responsibilities would include: Support a team responsible for executing lease accounting processes, reporting and controls; Engage key business leaders to obtain visibility and provide accounting guidance for new transactions enabling forecast accuracy and informed business decisions; Review ASC 842 lease accounting requirements and maintain effective internal controls for reporting of lease expenditures and commitments; Oversee the completion of month-end and quarter-end lease accounting deliverables in accordance with US GAAP and NIKE Accounting Policy; Drive continuous improvement in the efficiency and effectiveness of Global accounting processes and financial reporting; Participate in the review of monthly, quarterly and annual operational results and continuously add value as a trusted business partner; and Be part of the larger NIKE Controlling Organization and embrace best practices and process excellence. WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH You will be part of the Controlling Organization. In this role you will be working cross-functionally with stakeholders from Controlling, Finance and Real Estate with a focus on our retail, workplace and supply chain strategic investments across the lease portfolio. WHAT YOU BRING Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, experience, or training 6+ years of experience in accounting or related functions; Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is strongly preferred; SAP and TRIRIGA experience strongly preferred; ASC 842 experience and expertise; Strong enthusiasm and passion for the NIKE brand; Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to effectively communicate status, issues and risks with senior leadership team; Strong ability to handle and effectively prioritize numerous and competing deliverables; Proven ability to problem-solve, communicate complex and/or controversial topics and concepts to a wide and diverse audience, including meeting facilitation and presentations; Proven ability to develop high profile, influential and collaborative relationships across teams, functions and layers, preferably inclusive of navigating a large corporation; Strong leadership ability and understanding/application of managerial concepts and techniques in areas such as project/change management, idea creation, and cross-team effectiveness; and Transformative, process oriented and forward thinking mindset.
