WorkFusion is seeking a Senior Manager, Accounting, who will be responsible for all accounting matters and oversee our global accounting operations. The Senior Accounting Manager will be responsible for assisting in the evaluation and implementation of new accounting standards and ensuring the application of US GAAP to complex transactions. Other responsibilities include serving as a subject matter expert for all accounting questions; performing technical accounting research, drafting accounting policies and writing accounting position memoranda. In this capacity, the Senior Manager, Accounting will highly leverage and manage a small team in Warsaw, Poland. An ideal candidate will have a blend of smaller, entrepreneurial, and larger, more structured company experiences and appreciation for the transitions during rapid growth phases.

 

This is a full-time position and reports to the VP of Finance. Ideally, the candidate will be able to work in our midtown NYC office 1-2 days per week. 


Responsibilities:

 

  • Coordinate accurate and timely month-end close processes in accordance with accounting close calendar (monthly, quarterly, and annual), including review and approval of relevant monthly journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Prepare monthly internal financial statements.
  • Assist in the company’s treasury operations with a focus on segregation of duties
  • Responsible for all ASC 606 revenue recognition documentation and reporting during month end close.
  • Manage the Company’s annual US financial and 401K Audits.
  • Improve and implement best practices across the monthly closing processes.
  • Develop and maintain effective internal control processes.
  • Manage the tax compliance and tax provision function via 3rd party advisors globally.
  • Help manage payroll, payroll recording and equity administration.
  • Understand new accounting standards, assess the implications, if any, for the Company, and execute adoption as appropriate, including communication, documentation and training.
  • Contribute to the preparation of timely, accurate and meaningful internal and external financial statements and management reports.
  • Provide technical accounting support for ongoing business activities, including conducting research, documenting processes, and forming conclusions in all areas, including stock-based compensation, debt, equity, leases etc.
  • Provide training to accounting team for current policies, new / updated accounting guidance, and other complex areas of accounting.
  • Partner with business unit leaders on review of customer contracts and perform initial conclusions of appropriate revenue recognition treatment.
  • Participate in ad hoc projects requiring specialized accounting.
  • Develop strong business partnerships with business unit, departmental and internal financial leadership teams.
  • Manage team members’ performance including objectives setting, assessments, and formal reviews.



Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance; advanced degree a plus but not required
  • CPA required
  • A minimum of 7 years of accounting experience, preferably with both national public accounting and private accounting, experience.
  • Software industry or high-growth technology company experience a strong plus
  • Experience with NetSuite ERP system required
  • Experience with Avalara, Expensify, Carta, SFDC, & Adaptive Insights a plus
  • Strong technical skills (GAAP and SEC reporting)
  • Relevant Sarbanes-Oxley experience a plus
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office with advanced skills in Excel
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills including presentation skills
