Position Overview: We are seeking a Senior Accounting Manager to join our diverse and motivated Management Services team. This role involves reviewing insurance company financial statements and tax returns, handling special projects, and collaborating with a talented team of problem solvers. Responsibilities:
- Review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and federal and state income tax returns.
- Lead and foster a culture of open and dynamic communication, promoting teamwork to achieve goals.
- Assist in resolving complex accounting issues and provide guidance to team members.
- Recommend and implement improvements to accounting processes and procedures.
- Perform tasks of Accounting Analysts and assist with accounting and tax work.
- Handle confidential client matters with discretion.
- Meet productivity and efficiency standards (billable hours).
- Maintain familiarity with IRS Circular 230, AICPA Professional Code of Conduct, and relevant regulations.
- Complete special projects within defined timeframes and minimal review notes.
- Communicate directly with external clients on various topics.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, or equivalent education/experience.
- Five or more years of insurance company accounting and/or tax experience.
- At least one year of experience in a senior accounting or manager role.
- High initiative, positivity, and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Highly organized, adaptable, solution-oriented, and resourceful.
- Effective communication skills, strong work ethic, and high personal integrity.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, Outlook), Adobe Acrobat, and QuickBooks.
- Advanced knowledge of SAP, GAAP, and IRS Tax Code/Regulations.
- CPA certification is a plus.
