Senior Bookkeeper / Accounting Assistant
As a Senior Bookkeeper / Accounting Assistant with Chicago Glass and Mirror, Inc., we are seeking a detail-oriented, thorough and organized candidate to join our growing team. In this position, you will play a key role in managing the finances of our business; including updating financial information, creating financial transactions and generating relevant reports. Proven accounting experience is required. You must be familiar with accounting procedures and should have experience with accounting software programs (QuickBooks preferred). The ideal candidate will be able to process business transactions, handle accounts payable and receivable, expense reports, receipts and other financial matters. You will also collaborate and communicate with employees, vendors and customers to ensure accuracy of transactions.

Senior Bookkeeper / Accounting Assistant Responsibilities:
- Perform general bookkeeping duties; including posting information to accounting software, regularly reconciling accounts and following accounting best practices.
- Pay debts as they come due for payment, including monthly bills and supplier/vendor invoices.
- Keeping Company financial records up-to-date.
- Fact-checking invoices for payment and processing.
- Maintaining the Company general ledger.
- Monitoring vendor statements, wire transfer requests and other transactions.
- Posting customer checks, vendor payments and ACH payments.
- Assisting in account analysis and account coding.
- Preparing and approving POs where necessary.
- Processing billing adjustments and refunds.
- Correcting and modifying inaccurate files and records.
- Collection phone calls and e-mails as needed.
- Preparing, fulfilling and distributing employee expense checks.
- Assisting the Financial Controller with audits, forecasts and other fiscal planning.
- Assisting the other departments as needed.
- Filing, mailing and other duties as needed.
- Provide administrative support to other management when required.
Senior Bookkeeper/ Accounting Assistant Requirements and Qualifications:
- Minimum of Associate’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or relevant field.
- Knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting best practices, laws, standards, state/national regulations and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Two to three years of proven accounting/bookkeeping experience (accounts payable preferred).
- Able to analyze financial records and transfer information.
- Strong aptitude for numbers, spreadsheets and financial reports.
- Experience with QuickBooks.
- Excellent computer skills; experience with Microsoft Office Suite (including intermediate experience with Excel).
- Ability to multi-task, identify errors and solve problems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent time management skills; able to prioritize with respect for deadlines.
- Keen attention to detail with the ability to keep records and files organized.
- Decisive and critical thinker.
- Self-motivated and self-directed.
- Able to use 10-key by touch; with accurate data entry and word processing skills.
- Competent collaborator and skilled cross-functional communicator.

Job Type: Full-time, 8a - 5p
Pay Rate: $18 - $22 per hour, with possible OT; commensurate with experience.
Experience:
Bookkeeping: 2-3 years (Required)
