PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- MUST HAVE previous experience handling intercompany/subsidiaries accounting experience to qualify for this role.
- Perform monthly bookkeeping and accounting for clients
- General accounting functions including, journal entries, general ledger maintenance, auditing, account reconciliations, and month-end accrual preparation
- Developing and implementing improved accounting policies and procedures
- Provides support in the initiations and review of the accounts payable transactions and settlement
- Supports the preparation of monthly financial reports, including but not limited to variance analyses and other supporting documents as part of the Monthly Financial Review
- Provides support in the preparation of annual financial statements and other supporting documents for the statutory audit and tax filing
- Acting as a liaison with external auditors and governmental agencies ensuring compliance with statutory reporting requirements
- Supports internal management reporting/analysis or other ad hoc requests
- Preparation of variance analysis, as required
- Perform other accounting and general office duties as required
REQUIREMENTS:
- Flexibility, reliability, and ability to manage multiple tasks
- Minimum of 2-3 years of accounting experience in a corporation or financial service industry
- Functional knowledge in peripheral disciplines like local taxation and statutory requirements
- Knowledge of QuickBooks
- Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office applications; Microsoft Excel is required
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team where the accuracy and timeliness of data are critical
- Attention to detail and thorough documentation
- Candidates with experience in logistics, freight auditing, and brokerage are highly preferred.
