PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

• MUST HAVE previous experience handling intercompany/subsidiaries accounting experience to qualify for this role.
• Perform monthly bookkeeping and accounting for clients
• General accounting functions including, journal entries, general ledger maintenance, auditing, account reconciliations, and month-end accrual preparation
• Developing and implementing improved accounting policies and procedures
• Provides support in the initiations and review of the accounts payable transactions and settlement
• Supports the preparation of monthly financial reports, including but not limited to variance analyses and other supporting documents as part of the Monthly Financial Review
• Provides support in the preparation of annual financial statements and other supporting documents for the statutory audit and tax filing
• Acting as a liaison with external auditors and governmental agencies ensuring compliance with statutory reporting requirements
• Supports internal management reporting/analysis or other ad hoc requests
• Preparation of variance analysis, as required
• Perform other accounting and general office duties as required

REQUIREMENTS:

• Flexibility, reliability, and ability to manage multiple tasks
• Minimum of 2-3 years of accounting experience in a corporation or financial service industry
• Functional knowledge in peripheral disciplines like local taxation and statutory requirements
• Knowledge of QuickBooks
• Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office applications; Microsoft Excel is required
• Ability to work independently and as a member of a team where the accuracy and timeliness of data are critical
• Attention to detail and thorough documentation
• Candidates with experience in logistics, freight auditing, and brokerage are highly preferred.
