PT Janitor Job at Empowered Early Learning Group in Akron

The Janitor will be responsible for the general upkeep of Empowered Early Learning Academy - Akron to ensure that students/staff have a safe and clean environment to learn and socialize with others.

We are looking for an organized and hardworking janitor to join our company.

When you join our team as the Janitor, you will:

• Clean assigned facilities (e.g. classrooms, offices, restrooms, multipurpose rooms, grounds, etc.) for the purpose of maintaining a sanitary, safe and attractive environment;
• Arrange furnishings and equipment for the purpose of providing adequate preparations for meetings, classroom activities and special events;
• Attend in-service training (e.g. blood borne pathogens, cleaning solvents, floor care, first aid, maintenance training, etc.) for the purpose of receiving information on new and/or improved procedures;
• Inspects facilities for the purpose of ensuring that the site is suitable for safe operations, maintained in an attractive and clean condition, and/or identifying necessary repairs due to equipment breakage, weather conditions, etc.;
• Repairs furniture and equipment as maybe required (e.g. faucets, toilets, light fixtures, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring that items are available and in safe working condition;
• Keep building secure by locking doors;
• Wash windows, walls, and glass;
• Clean and sanitize restrooms and cafeteria;
• Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, or vacuuming;
• Clean spills as needed;
• Clean bathrooms and stock them with soap, toilet paper, and other supplies;
• Submit order form for cleaning products to maintain a steady stock of items;
• Notify Director when the building needs repairs;
• Performs limited grounds maintenance such as mowing and trimming lawns and hedges and cleaning snow from sidewalks;
• Maintains a neat and orderly janitor’s room; ensures cleaning and maintenance supplies are stocked;
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

• High school diploma
• Good physical health including ability to lift 75 pounds, climb to high and difficult places and work at those places. Constant hand-eye and mind-eye coordination, standing and walking. Repetitive motion with wrists hands and fingers. Frequent bending, carrying, hearing, lifting and stooping;
• At least two years’ experience working in a school environment preferred;
• Satisfactory completion of local, state, and federal criminal history check;
• Demonstrated ability to exhibit strong interpersonal skills with students, parents and administrators; and
• Ability to meet established deadlines.
