Job Summary:

The Heavy Equipment Service Manager will provide exceptional customer service throughout the entire equipment sales process to both internal and external customers. They will also cultivate and develop the Service team, fostering high employee engagement and enabling them to perform at their best in a safe and efficient manner. Additionally, they will ensure the Service Department operates smoothly and profitably as it expands.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned):

  1. Lead the Road Service and Shop technicians and help them advance in their goals
  2. Handle customer service requests with a high sense of urgency
  3. Manage the workload in the service department in order to reach utilization goal
  4. Promoting, quoting, and selling of Preventative Maintenance programs
  5. Create, approve, deliver, and close service quotes
  6. Support Service Writer with scheduling practices and invoicing
  7. Review of all Warranty invoices prior to submittal
  8. Plan for seasonal fluctuations in the business by coordination of service marketing calendar
  9. Create a service training schedule for each technician and track progress
  10. Execute on the New and Used Equipment management process
  11. Complete performance reviews for direct reports, to include developmental goals
  12. Approve all daily timecards, vacation, etc.
  13. Engage OEMs for additional support to technicians in shop or field when appropriate
  14. Ensure all technicians are a positive reflection of the company and that their equipment is well-stocked and properly maintained
  15. Ensure that all equipment, vehicles, and facilities consistently represent the company’s standards through proper maintenance and upkeep.
  16. Assist with collections as needed
  17. Support customers with technical information by leveraging inside and outside resources
