An Equipment Operator Chemical Sprayer Position 4L job in Eastern Washington Patterson/Sunnyside - Mattawa, WA is available at St. Michelle Wine Estates (SMWE). A pesticide applicator license is required. This equipment operator applies agricultural chemicals/pesticides(handling, mixing, and loading). Installs and removes pesticide signs as necessary. Monitors all ground speeds, pressure settings, flow rates and spray patterns. Unplug equipment nozzles and filters as necessary. Monitors all weather conditions to effectively inform all vineyard, supervisory, and management personnel. Performs minor mechanical "B" repair and maintenance to light/heavy equipment. Maintains a schedule equipment repair as well as maintenance records/logs. Performs daily servicing and safety inspections of equipment assigned. This position will require 8 to 10 hour workdays. Saturdays may be required. This job is represented by United Farm workers (UFW)

Equipment Operator Chemical Sprayer Responsibilities Include:
  • Mixing, load and apply of chemicals. Install and remove pesticide signs as needed.
  • Monitor all weather conditions and ensure that supervisory/managerial staff are informed of same.
  • Complete understanding of all MSDS, chemical label criteria, and state federal laws surrounding use and application of product
  • Monitor all ground speeds, pressure settings, flow rates and spray patterns. Unplug nozzles and filters as needed.
  • Operate all equipment utilized in cultural operation. Always remain alert to any environmental conditions.
  • Maintain an understanding and proper use of all personal protective equipment.

Position Requirements:
  • Pesticide Applicator License Required.
  • Must Possess a Valid Drivers License.
  • Tractor experience
  • Must past Respirator Fit Test
  • Must Be 18 Years of Age Minimum
  • Previous Experience in AG Related Work Preferably Vineyard Operation
  • History of responsible use of alcohol and other appropriate conduct, as well as fitness to be licensed, permitted, and/or certified by state and/or local regulatory bodies.

Your Compensation:

$19.40 an hour.
