We currently have an exciting career opportunity for a Senior Business Analyst to join our team.
This is a virtual position. A virtual position does not require job duties to be performed within proximity of a CohnReznick office location. As a virtual employee, you may be required to be present at a CohnReznick office with scheduled notice for client working, team meetings, or training.
YOUR TEAM.
The Senior Business Analyst will report to the Senior Manager – Assurance BA and Director of IT Business Solutions and work alongside a cross-functional project team in the delivery and support of Assurance solutions.
YOUR ROLE.
The Business Analyst will serve primarily as a technical analyst and business relationship management resource for the IT/Technology team, Practice Lead, and all Business users for all applications in the Assurance portfolio. The Business Analyst will also be expected to elicit and document requirements for projects, product upgrades, and impacts of other projects on the Assurance application portfolio.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Provide operational support as IT liaison to the Assurance Department.
- Coordinate and set up (facilitate) Remote Reviews and work along with Support App Specialists group and the business requestor on the types of remote reviews needed.
- Work with vendors on licensing issues, updates, bug fixes, and improvements when needed.
- Develop communication to the business and IT support for any changes, updates, outages, etc.
- Work with Business and Desktop/Citrix teams on packaging/testing updates, changes, and deployments for all assurance applications.
- Draft and update Knowledge Base articles for staff, IT Support, and App Specialists for all applications.
- Train, guide, coordinate, and mentor the App Specialists Support group.
- Determine requirements and testing procedures for projects that involve or impact Assurance applications.
- Support business combination integrations for all Assurance applications.
- Work with affected business groups on Assurance and Tax on changes to processes and provide assistance/guidance.
- Work on solutions for common issues either with the applications or processes that affect applications.
- Coordinate with Infrastructure teams to account for back-end changes that affect the Assurance application.
- Develop relationships with and meet with Assurance leaders where applicable.
- Prepare for and support the busy season, working with vendors where applicable and assisting the Support Desk with guidance.
- Support legacy products and processes during transition periods.
- Assist Lead Assurance BA with piloting of new products and deployments for upgrades to existing products.
- Solve technical/business issues by using the application or help files, vendor support, Wikis, blogs, and user forums.
- Perform testing to ensure development conforms to the functional design specifications and plan for code promotion to production.
- Work independently when needed, manage time based on workload, and take initiative.
- Provide technical support and input/guidance to “Audit of the Future” innovation initiative when called to provide feedback.
- Build relationships with the business at all levels and with peers both inside and outside the Firm.
- Communicate with the business on a non-technical level, and with the IT department on a more technical level.
- Attendance at Vendor seminars and leadership meetings when needed.
- Participate in the creation of project plans and communicate status when needed.
- Interact with other IT Teams to ensure specifications are in line with the most efficient available technical solutions and offer suggestions to improve processes among teams.
YOUR EXPERIENCE.
The successful candidate will have:
- Minimum 3 years' experience in Business Analysis and/or Technical Analysis.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
- Proficient in Windows and Microsoft Office applications.
- Proficient in understanding and documenting business processes.
- Familiar with Project Management methodology.
- Excellent verbal and written skills, including the ability to discuss technical topics with non-technical audiences.
- Detail-oriented; strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work both autonomously and actively as part of a cross-functional team.
- Familiarity or experience with Assurance solutions a plus: CCH Engagement and Knowledge Coach; CaseWare (for example).
- Experience in the accounting industry a plus.
- Experience or knowledge of VBA, SQL, C# a plus.
- Familiarity with cloud environments (specifically Azure) a plus.
