REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION:
Some functions are performed in warehouse environment and some functions are performed in a radionuclide production environment with radioactive materials. The job is typically performed under comfortable working conditions; any disagreeable elements are generally absent during normal performance of job. Job requires minimal heavy lifting of up to 20 pounds. Fifty percent of functions are performed sitting with minimal lifting and Fifty percent of functions are performed stand with minimal reaching. Strong concentration along with frequent and constant mental and visual attention required.
PURPOSE OF JOB
We’re seeking a skilled Manufacturing Technician to join our team! This position performs Cyclotron operations necessary to maintain production as well as maintain cyclotrons and supporting equipment. RESPONSIBILITIES- Operate cyclotrons and perform necessary maintenance of cyclotrons and related equipment.
- Respond to urgent equipment failures.
- Maintain up to date recording of the daily log, systems logs and operational parameters and cyclotron documentation.
- First-line troubleshooting, perform preventive maintenance of the cyclotron and its associated systems (vacuum, RF, magnet, etc.) and reporting abnormal operations to the Cyclotron Manager.
- Working around ionizing radiation sources, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
- Performs routine maintenance and repairs of cyclotrons and support equipment with minimal to no instructions once trained.
- Ability to perform large scale troubleshooting with system components spread across multiple areas.
- Performs general troubleshooting for operations of cyclotrons and support equipment.
- Perform circuit board repair and basic soldering.
REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION:
- Must have at least a high school education/diploma or equivalent GED and additional education and/or experience in Science, Electronics, Computers, or related field.
- A minimum of six months’ experience in electro-mechanical trades (e.g. electronics, power distribution, mechanics, plumbing, hydraulics, pneumatics, etc.) or equivalent education required.
- Required to be on call. Ability to work on-call nights and weekends and overtime as needed.
- Close attention to detail required
- Willingness to work in a team-based environment
- Must demonstrate reliable troubleshooting ability and diagnostic skills related to electro-mechanical systems
