This position will oversee all metal joining processes at the Sensata Thousand Oaks, CA facility, including internal processes: Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW), Laser Welding, Resistance Welding, Induction Brazing and interconnect soldering plus external processes: Electron Beam Welding and Furnace Brazing for Aerospace applications.
General Responsibilities
•Implements and maintains methods, operation sequence and processes in the manufacturing or fabrication of parts, components, sub-assemblies and final assemblies
•Collaborates with design engineering in coordinating the release of new products
•Estimates manufacturing cost, determines time standards and makes recommendations for tooling and process requirements of new or existing product lines
•Organizes records and reporting systems for coordination of manufacturing operations
•Key participant in planning and designing manufacturing processes in an industrial plant
•Organizes the design, fabrication, modification, and evaluation in support of manufacturing operations such as machining, metal forming, plastics processing, welding and brazing, assembly, and material handling
Experience / Qualifications
•A university degree required (i.e. Bachelors degree) or equivalent relevant work experience.
•Must be a team player able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demands
•Strong communication skills; oral, written and presentation
•Strong organization, planning and time management skills to achieve results
•Strong personal and professional ethical values and integrity
•Holds self-accountable to achieving goals and standards
•Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
•Strong interpersonal & collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization including suppliers and/or external customers

Base Salary Range:
$76,800.00 - $105,600.00

- Support all metal joining processes - welding, brazing and soldering
- Concept and/or design braze and weld tooling/fixturing. Working knowledge of Solid Works is a strong plus.
- Perform characterization of weld, braze and solder joints
- BS Degree in Welding is a strong plus. BS degree in a related engineering discipline will be considered with metals joining experience
- Experience with J-STD-001 for soldering, NDT (Fluorescent Penetrant and CT Scan/Xray) and Metallography is a strong plus.
- Experience and knowledge in Shainin Problem Solving or Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing, Aerospace quality systems and geometric dimensioning & tolerancing is a strong plus.
