Job Summary: The Engineering Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and engineering operations of the hotel, ensuring all systems and equipment are functioning optimally to provide a safe and comfortable environment for guests and staff. This role includes supervising engineering staff, managing preventive maintenance programs, and coordinating repairs and renovations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervision and Leadership:
    1. Lead and manage the engineering team, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
    2. Foster a collaborative work environment that emphasizes safety and efficiency.
  • Maintenance Management:
    1. Oversee the preventive maintenance program for all hotel systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
    2. Schedule and prioritize maintenance tasks and repairs, ensuring minimal disruption to hotel operations.
  • Safety Compliance:
    1. Ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory standards, including local building codes and health regulations.
    2. Conduct regular safety inspections and maintain documentation.
  • Budget Management:
    1. Assist in the preparation and management of the engineering budget, controlling costs and identifying areas for efficiency improvements.
  • Emergency Response:
    1. Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests and troubleshoot issues effectively.
    2. Develop and implement emergency response plans for engineering-related incidents.
  • Collaboration:
    1. Work closely with other departments to support hotel operations and enhance the guest experience.
    2. Coordinate with outside contractors for specialized repairs and renovations.
  • Inventory Management:
    1. Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment, ensuring necessary materials are available for maintenance tasks.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Facility Management, or a related field preferred. 3+ years of experience in facility maintenance, with supervisory experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of building systems and maintenance practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed.

Working Conditions:

  • Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks.
  • Work is primarily indoors, with exposure to mechanical systems and equipment.
