Assists with administering, directing and coordinating activities of the Respiratory Therapy Department.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities include:

  1. Supervises employees’ daily work.
  2. Maintains employees’ schedule.
  3. Communicates effectively with Director to keep him/her informed of issues and concerns.
  4. Makes sure competencies are completed.
  5. Ensures compliance of department and staff with JCAH requirements.
  6. Assists with financial and physical resource management by providing input into the capital and operating budget process, identifying cost containment strategies, and assisting in the procurement and management of resources.
  7. Assists with compliance of infection control standards, risk management issues, unit specific quality control standards, emergency preparedness, equipment management, unit specific competency program, and requirements of all regulatory agencies at clinic.
  8. Participates in the selection and orientation process of new employees.
  9. Provides direct patient care as needed.
  10. Serves as a clinical resource to staff members.
  11. Serves as liaison regarding coordination of patient care and resolution of issues between departments.
  12. Assists with gathering and analyzing data for performance improvement activities.
  13. Working Supervisor position so will provide patient care as necessary to help the team.

QUALIFICATION

Education:

  • Graduation from an accredited school of Respiratory Therapy.
  • CO RTL (DORA) in good standing
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS (AHA) required
  • Current NRP required

Skills:

  • Demonstrated leadership abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability in interpersonal (verbal and written) communication skills.

Experience:

  • 3+ years RT experience

Evening/Night/Weekend Differentials

  • $2.25/hour evening shift differential when working a minimum of 4 consecutive hours between 3:00pm-11:30pm.
  • $4.00/hour night shift differential when working a minimum of 4 consecutive hours between 11:00pm - 7:30am.
  • $4.25/hour weekend differential when working 5 or more continuous hours between 7pm on Friday and 7am on Sunday.
