Job Description
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
· Observes all company safety policies and procedures as well as maintain good housekeeping, GMP and Global Food Safety practices
· Changeover, repair and troubleshoot all plant production equipment
*Lockout/Tagout procedures
· Identification of complex problems with mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, hydraulic issues on all associated equipment (conveyors, compressors, chillers, programmable controllers, robots); review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions
· Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them- checking blueprints- repair manuals- or parts catalogs- as necessary
· Dismantle and reassemble machines to fit or replace necessary parts
· Able to understand and complete Preventative Maintenance based on Preventative Maintenance schedules
· Perform routine maintenance on equipment and determine when and what kind of maintenance is needed
· Responsive to maintenance requests in a timely manner and complete maintenance reports as required
· Maintain plant equipment to ensure maximum efficiency
· Ability to work with vendors and/or contractors as required
· Ensure spare parts or services are ordered as required
· Implement operational improvements (spoilage, downtime, line speeds, etc.)
· Train others to operate equipment and produce products safely and efficiently
· Maintain organization of spare parts
· Maintain a clean and organized work area
· Perform other duties as assigned by manager or supervisor
· Complete special projects and duties as assigned
· Continuously monitor and physically inspect production equipment
· Rebuild/ fabrication of equipment
· Welding mild and stainless steel
· Complete work orders
· Maintain logs and records
· Investigates electrical and instrument equipment failures and develops action plans to eliminate repetitive failures
· Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation
· Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests
· Other duties as assigned within the scope of the role
ROLE REQUIREMENTS
· You are 18 years of age or older
· High School Degree or equivalent
· 2+ years in a manufacturing/production environment
· Experience with mechanical and/or electrical repair required
· You have knowledge of fabrication, machine shop tools, hydraulics and/or pneumatics
· You have ability to read and follow schematics, electrical diagrams, and blueprints
· You must be able to lift to 50 pounds, bend, stoop, twist, and turn frequently
· Manual dexterity, overall coordination, and good balance are required
· You enjoy working as a part of a larger team to make an impact
