SUMMARY

Family Service League is seeking a per diem Social Worker to conduct crisis intervention and crisis assessments in a 24/7 crisis stabilization center with 24/7 hotline and Mobile Crisis Team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct intake assessments on adults, adolescents, and children with the full range of DSM diagnoses (including both mental health and substance use disorders) in an acute care, outpatient setting or in the field as part of the Mobile Crisis Team.
  • Provide telephonic and in person crisis intervention.
  • Complete all clinical documentation in accordance with NYS Office of Mental Health in an electronic medical record.
  • Provide linkage and follow up to clients during stabilization period and immediately following.
  • Coordinate with outside providers and collateral contacts.
  • Attend routine supervision/team meeting.
  • Coordinate treatment with the multidisciplinary team.
  • Complete training and maintain proficiency with de-escalation and physical restraint skills.
  • Abide by FSL’s Code of Ethics.
  • All other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

A Master’s degree is required. An LMSW, Limited Permit, or related licensed clinical degree is preferred.

At least six months experience in a behavioral health setting is required. Clinical experience is preferred.

Excellent interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills are required.

Ability to problem solve, multitask, make clear decisions and work as part of a team are required.

Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office required; experience with an Electronic Health Record is preferred.

Bilingual in Spanish is preferred.

Valid and clean New York State Driver’s License and ability to safely operate a motor vehicle is required for the Mobile Response Team.

Ability to bend, stretch and stand for long periods of time.

Evening and weekend availability required.

Holiday availability as needed.
