Starting Salary: $16.30-$17.83 (depending on experience)

About this Position
The Warehouse Worker is one of several warehouse careers that works to procure and assist internal and external customers with their material needs via the City of Edmond's warehouse inventory. They perform manual labor to maintain the operation of a warehouse and its associated equipment for the following departments: Water, Wastewater, Facility Maintenance, Electric, Traffic Lighting/Signs, and occasionally Solid Waste. Responsibilities include (but are not limited to) purchasing, stock control, storage, distribution, and receipt of inventory.
This position works four 10-hour days with one (1) day off during the week and every Saturday and Sunday. In the rare event of major system damage, this position would be required to work shift work to ensure parts are available 24 hours a day.

Responsibilities
- Control inventory of construction and maintenance material, utilizing a forklift/reach truck on a frequent basis
- Receive, store, catalogue, inventory, and safeguard materials
- Maintain inventory software to preclude material shortages and overages
- Maintain a well-organized, clean, and safe environment
- Help assist with other warehouse practices to meet work schedules and budgeting requirements
- Assist the Warehouse Supervisor with:
- Purchasing materials
- Checking inventory accuracy
- Designing and implementing work methods and procedures
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- 7 to 11 months of related experience and/or training
- Or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Valid Oklahoma Driver's License and a driving record acceptable to the City's insurance carrier
Necessary Skills
- Ability to learn and use warehousing software (i.e., Storeroom)
- Ability to meet the required physical standards for this position
- Ability to pass extensive background process and pre-employment drug, physical, and audio screenings
