We're looking for an amazing Power BI Data Analytics and Visualization Manager to fill this role, which is based in our Seattle or Miami offices. You'll be responsible for leading our data visualization efforts and driving impactful insights through compelling reports and dashboards, collaborating with cross-functional teams you'll deliver high-quality visualizations that enable data-driven decision-making across the organization. In this hands-on role you'll report directly to the Senior Director, Decision Support and will manage a Power Bi Engineer, but also work with IT to develop specs and design requirements and assist in implementation for improving existing data or adding new functionality to data warehouse to support dashboarding needs. You will also be a champion of the Power Bi platform and work towards migrating stakeholders away from legacy reporting. Responsibilities Lead a Power Bi Visualization Engineer, providing guidance, mentoring, and coaching to ensure their professional growth and development. Oversee the design and development of visually appealing and insightful Power BI reports and dashboards that effectively communicate complex data to stakeholders. Collaborate with key stakeholders, including data analysts, business leaders, and IT professionals, to understand data requirements and translate them into actionable visualization solutions. Design and create reports, ad-hoc, and dashboards that drive revenue maximization using Oracle SQL to data model views & tables for company BI platforms and reporting. Manages and prioritizes the IT backlog and available resources. Establish and enforce best practices for data visualization, ensuring consistency, clarity, and usability across all reports and dashboards created by the team. Conduct regular quality checks and audits to ensure accuracy, integrity, and adherence to established standards in data visualizations Analyze and interpret complex data sets, identifying trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement, and guide the team in transforming data into meaningful insights. Collaborate with the data engineering team to optimize data models and ensure the availability of reliable and timely data for visualization purposes. Provide training and support to users on how to effectively interpret and use Power BI visuals, promoting data literacy across the organization. Monitor and evaluate the performance of Power BI reports and dashboards, identifying areas for improvement and implementing necessary enhancements. Stay abreast of the latest trends and advancements in data visualization techniques and tools and provide guidance on incorporating innovative approaches into the team's work and improvement in the team's visualization capabilities Create and maintain functional and technical documentation and standards. Additional duties and ad hoc projects as assigned by the Director. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus. Minimum 5 years practical experience in either business or computer sciences. Minimum 3 years leading a team/supervisory experience. Minimum Qualifications (if preferred but not required, list as such): Proven work experience with Power Bi data modeling and visualization, Strong SQL, VBA, Excel skill set, with a strong portfolio of successful Power BI data models & visualizations. Previous experience in a managerial or team leadership role, with demonstrated ability to effectively lead, motivate, and develop a team. In-depth knowledge of Power BI, including data modeling, DAX formulas, and custom visualizations. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and SQL for data manipulation and analysis. Strong understanding of data visualization best practices, including color theory, layout, and user experience design. Experience working with large and complex datasets, and the ability to transform raw data into meaningful insights. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail. Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels of the organization. Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Experience with other data visualization tools and languages (Tableau, Python, R) is a plus. Leadership skills and the ability to lead and motivate a team, providing guidance, coaching, and fostering a positive work environment. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States. The range is applicable for the labor market where the role is intended to be hired. Final base salary is directly related to each candidates' qualifications and experience uniquely.
