Job Summary
The Director of Operations for the Michigan Volleyball program should be a highly organized and personable individual to provide logistical and administrative support for the coaches, staff, and student-athletes. This position will be involved with all aspects of the Michigan women's volleyball program. This position requires an individual who can communicate effectively with a variety of different audiences and adapt quickly to changing circumstances. Responsibilities*
Essential Functions: Oversee scheduling and operation of team practices, visiting team logistics, and home game logistics. Manage team schedule, communication, and organization using Teamworks. Oversee and communicate all team travel logistics such as transportation, accommodations, and meals for a 30+ person travel party. Provide logistical support for coaches recruiting travel. Manage daily logistics of meals, team operations, and staff needs. Create and maintain the volleyball operation budget, and oversee all purchases and contractual agreements as it pertains to the volleyball program. Provide administration support for camps/clinics and associated budgets. Serve as a point of contact for the following departments:
Ticket Office. Equipment Manager/Apparel Provider. Facilities Managers. Marketing. Event Management. Travel Office. Media Relations. Information Technology. Compliance Office. Nutrition Staff. Alumni Relations.
Perform all other duties as assigned by Head Coach. Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. Thorough knowledge of NCAA rules and intercollegiate athletics. Must work with and communicate effectively with all team members and support staff within Michigan Athletics and the UM community. Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must possess excellent computer and technical skills. Exceptional organizational and administrative skills. Ability to travel on a regular basis during the volleyball season. Desired Qualifications*
Master’s degree from an accredited college or university. Modes of Work
Onsite: The work requires, or the supervisor approves a fully onsite presence. Onsite is defined as a designated U-M owned or leased work location within or outside of the State of Michigan. Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department. Work agreements are reviewed annually at a minimum and are subject to change at any time, and for any reason, throughout the course of employment. Additional Information
