Job Description Seeking a Procurement Manager for an electronics manufacturer serving the military and commercial industry. The ideal candidate has 5-10 years' purchasing experience within an electronics or similar manufacturing environment. You are a proven leader experienced with supervising, coaching, and developing staff.

What you will do: Plans and implements activities related to the procurement of raw materials, goods, and services. Compiles and analyzes statistical data to determine the feasibility of buying products and to establish price objectives. Approves and qualifies vendors, obtains quotes, examines bids and makes awards. Negotiates with suppliers and analyzes suppliers’ operations to determine factors that affect prices and to determine the lowest cost consistent with quality, reliability, and ability to meet required schedules. Reviews proposals, negotiates prices, selects or recommends suppliers, analyzes trends, and maintains necessary records. May prepare request for proposals (RFP) and bid packages. Negotiates and settles with suppliers regarding damage claims, rejections, losses, return of materials, over-shipments, cancellations, and engineering changes. Direct, coordinate and supervise all the procurement functions within the Purchasing Department. Assist buyers in the execution of their daily work, including resolving issues with delivery, quality, and invoice discrepancies. Identify and implement plans to reduce material costs (PPV). Actively support the development of Lean processes and procedures to drive down lead-time and improve quality and efficiencies within the organization. Ensure Suppliers meet program requirements including appropriate flow downs required on Purchase orders. Develop and maintain effective processes for driving material to support product line requirements for price and delivery. Ensure appropriate compliance for maintaining AS9100 certification. Train and develop personnel to maintain a high level of quality and competence. Give prompt attention and handle complaints and grievances within the limits of established policy. Requirements: Bachelor's degree required Experience in Purchasing, inventory, Planning and MRP systems. Experience working with lean manufacturing processes and principles. Experience with ITAR and EAR99 part classifications during PO placement. Strong planning, analytical and networking skills are required. Strong negotiation skills. Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Outlook E-mail, Costpoint. Familiar with the transmission of technical data using secure mail.
