National Grid is hiring a Senior Benefits Specialist for our Compensation and Benefits department. This position can be located in Waltham, MA or Brooklyn, NY.
Job Purpose
Working as part of the Global Compensation team, the Senior Compensation Specialist will support the day-to-day management of all aspects of employee compensation (market benchmarking, salary analysis, salary increases budget research). Support the management of the short-term incentive plans and the year-end compensation planning as well as the job sizing/job evaluation processes for the various employee categories. Undertake project work relating to key changes or business initiatives and support the ongoing efforts to drive improvements and reduce the complexity in the core compensation processes. Key Accountabilities
Assist in the management of the year-end annual compensation cycle, including acting as a compensation administrator of the compensation module. Support the administration of the annual short-term incentive plan. Perform salary benchmarking, with pay modelling to inform strategic decisions. Salary survey submissions and analyze results against company roles for competitiveness. Perform job evaluations. Participate in compensation projects and business initiatives. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Finance, Business Administration or a related field. Minimum of 4 years of experience in compensation analysis. Strong experience with practical and detailed application of existing compensation policies and processes, including experience with salary surveys, job evaluation, salary reviews, and short-term incentive plans. Preferred experience with SAP SuccessFactors or similar HR system. Knowledge of FLSA and local state compensation & wage laws. Highly motivated self-starter with strong compensation experience. Comfortable working in complex, challenging and sensitive environments. Strong influencing and stakeholder management skills. Advanced analytical, MS Excel, and data modelling skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple priorities. Salary
$102k - $144k a year in Waltham, MA. $110k - $155k a year in Brooklyn, NY. This position has a career path which provides for advancement opportunities within and across bands as you develop and evolve in the position; gaining experience, expertise, and acquiring and applying technical skills.
