Tecknomic is searching for IT Support Technician professionals for upcoming long-term projects with the Baltimore County Public School System (BCPSS). These are full-time, onsite positions in Baltimore with Tecknomic and the project is with BCPSS. This role is expected to become available in about mid-December. Please note that candidates will need to provide proof of Covid-19 vaccination, if offered the role. Deadline to submit your application: December 2nd , 2024 Hours and Location Work location will be at multiple schools/locations within Baltimore County. Travel is a part of this position's duties. BCPS does not pay mileage for contractor positions. No holiday pay or school closing pay will be paid. Interview Interviews will be held in person. Employee Requirements All candidates must present a fingerprint card indicating they passed their background check. Must be able to work onsite and travel between multiple locations (up to 1.5 hours) Duration of the assignment is a minimum of 6 months but could be indefinite. The ideal candidate must possess the following: Responsibilities: Communicate effectively with all levels of customers including administrators, staff, students and vendors Installs and supports new devices along with accompanying software (these devices can include computers, tablets, projectors, document cameras as examples) Coordinates the repair of student and teacher laptop computers including performing diagnostic repair procedures Installs and configures supported device operating systems Performs routine diagnostics and maintenance with multiple operating systems Installs and configures applications and other supported software packages Tests new releases for supported systems Performs network support and troubleshooting duties Provides consultation and/or training to teachers, staff and students on the operation of technology equipment and software packages Troubleshoots hardware and software issues Assists teachers with resolving device related problems Integrates knowledge and skills from a range of technologies to address work assignments and problems of moderate complexity Coordinates with vendors when necessary Participates as team member on small and/or large projects Records activities in the work order system Updates/Creates internal supported system documentation Required Skills: Associates Degree in a related technology area Minimum of three (3) years' experience installing, upgrading, troubleshooting and maintaining device software Knowledge of Windows and Apple hardware and software platforms Ability to perform technical tasks with minimal supervision Must be able to follow oral and written directions Any equivalent combination of experience and training, which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities will be considered. Must have own transportation and valid driver's license (Required license must be maintained throughout employment in this position) Ability to lift 50 pounds and climb a ladder Desired Skills: Possess certifications such as CompTIA, A certification, HP Certification, other hardware vendor specific certifications.
