This is a Federal contract position

The Azure Cloud Architect is responsible for providing technical guidance and leading the implementation of Microsoft Azure based solutions. CDC CSELS utilizes Microsoft Azure as its primary cloud service provider and host for many of its business applications. This position will be responsible for leading the design and implementation of Microsoft Azure based solutions, optimization, and governance. The Azure Cloud Data Architect will work closely with other IT groups to create and migrate custom applications and integrate 3rd party software solutions.

The Azure Cloud Data Architect will:
•Identify and evaluate Azure architectural needs in accordance with the organization’s strategic plans
•Lead the efforts to shape the architecture of future enterprise applications in Azure
•Assist with projects to migrate on-premises .net applications to the Azure cloud
•Provide solutions for integrating Azure, Microsoft 365, and other lottery systems
•Manage Access and provide support to developers and project management teams for the Lottery’s DevOps account
•Provide guidance on Azure data architecture and best practices for more effective organization and deployment of resources in Microsoft Azure
•Work closely with other IT groups to optimize and automate Azure deployments utilizing PowerShell, Azure Dev Ops repositories and pipelines
•Gather and analyze proposed solutions in Azure. Lead efforts in crafting innovative solutions that follow industry best practices
•Lead the efforts to enhance and improve the performance of all the implemented applications.
•Be instrumental in promoting best practices for optimizing Azure resources to align with the priorities of the organization.

Minimum Qualifications

The person selected for this position will have:
•Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited 4-year college or university with major studies in Information Technology or a related field
•5+ years of experience across multiple areas of Information Technology, including data analysis, development, data modeling, integration, and IT security
•Proficient in creating and deploying solutions in Azure that meet the demands of high volume and high availability
•Firm understanding of Azure Security, Azure Active Directory, and application security
•Experience with Azure Dev Ops and GitLab
•Expert PowerShell and its use to manage Microsoft Azure
•Experience with Visual Studio and GIT
•Experience with Azure SQL Server products
•Experience with Microsoft 365 products
•Experience in strategic planning processes, especially translating business needs into IT solutions
•Ability to adapt to change
•Ability to think methodically, creatively, and independently
•Strong organizational and time management skills
•Proven ability to solve technical problems using an analytical approach and a wide range of knowledge in technologies and tools
•Advanced verbal and written communication skills
•Ability to study, identify, and resolve complex operational problems and revise computer systems applications
