Job Description

Overall Purpose and Objective of Position

  • To identify, manage and maintain material master data for Non-Commodities Inventory and Services for regional industrial facilities using data management software and SAP. 
  • To be the link between the technical users, master data management resources and procurement buyers to maintain material master data at the highest level of data quality and consistency.
  • MRP, Planning and releasing of purchase requests for small satellite industrial facilities.

 

Primary Responsibilities/Essential Functions

  • Receives requests for material creation from regional personnel and conducts initial validation, de-duplication, and data enrichment.
  • Ensures critical material standards, taxonomy and characteristics are met and maintained for all material requests.
  • Ensures timeliness of all new materials requests.
  • Manages the material master data catalogue for Non-Commodities Inventory to ensure data quality uniformity and consistency.
  • Coordinates with regional industrial facilities regarding MRP data for all materials.
  • Consults with regional industrial facilities and procurement buyers to resolve technical and administrative problems regarding material master data for Non-Commodities Inventory and Services.
  • Ensures all supply chain policies are maintained for material master data.
  • Drives improvement activities for the material master data processes.
  • Creates and updates processes, SOPs, and other training publications for material master data for the NAM region.
  • Implements, trains, and executes materials request process, ensuring good system adoption and adherence in all NAM region facilities.
  • Lead role in replacement of legacy CMMS software application with SAP S/4 Hana.
  • Creates and releases Purchase Requests for small satellite industrial facilities.
  • Assist in development and execution for materials needs of site annual shutdowns and CAPEX projects.
  • Maintains and updates key performance indicators for managing material master data and warehousing activities.

  • Ensures work area is kept clean and free from safety hazards
  • Participates in maintenance, safety, benefits, and other meetings as required
  • Participates in plant safety, health, and environmental programs.
  • Accepts/carries out/completes other duties as assigned

Education/Professional Certifications/Licenses

Basic qualification:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain or Data Sciences
  • Work equivalent experience may be substituted – 5 years

The following is the preferred qualification:

  • Certification in APICS CSCP/CPIM
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Experience with SAP, and conducts training and follow up with end users in the use of these systems
  • Experience with an ERP transformation project
  • Strong leadership skills

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities (including any physical demands)

The following are basic qualifications:

  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, procedures and industrial processing machinery
  • Use of SAP and other CMMS Applications
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
         

Equipment Used

  • Typical office equipment: PC, telephone, fax machine
  • Use of proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when required

Working Conditions

  • Work is primarily in an office setting with standard hours. Extensions of regular working hours are occasionally necessary to complete time-sensitive projects, attend training or to respond to emergencies.  Visits to industrial operations areas are sometimes necessary with exposure to variety of temperatures and prevailing weather conditions.  Regular exposure to chemicals, industrial cleaning agents, gases, vapors, dust, odors and flammable liquids.  Occasional exposure to areas with wet floors and high volume of noise.  Position may require some stair climbing or work above ground level.

  • The position does not manage other employees.
