Customer Service Optician needed

Our team needs a compassionate and dedicated professional to help our patients leave our office looking stylish in their perfect new pair of glasses. This is a full-time position offering the stability of a career in healthcare in our Brewster location.
NO Experience Needed:
Prior medical office or eyecare experience certainly can be helpful, but they are certainly not required. All applicants must be bi-lingual; Spanish/English. We offer paid training to the right person with a great attitude, a helpful heart, and a love of learning!
What you’ll be doing
You’ll be helping our patients choose the right glasses for them based on their personal style, lifestyle needs, prescription, and more. People walk in not being able to see, and you’re the one that sends them out looking great and SEEING great! This is not just a sales job, your role is to be an educator and a style consultant.
Some of your duties will include:
- Greeting patients as they enter, welcoming them and setting an expectation of exceptional service at first sight!
- Helping people pick out frames that suit them based on the shape of their face, bridge fit, lifestyle, and prescription.
- Determining the best lens types, materials, coatings, and brands for patients’ lifestyles. For example, a kid who plays basketball will need something different from someone who works on a computer all day.
- Educating first-timers on how to use and take care of their glasses and contact lenses
- Taking accurate measurements for all lens styles and prescriptions, checking new glasses for fit and making adjustments, troubleshooting prescription issues and miscellaneous repairs
- Billing insurance
- Consistent cross-training for optimal career growth
- Educating patients on what their insurance and/or saving plans cover
- Keeping the our space looking clean, neat and welcoming
- Doing inventory, ordering, sending and receiving shipments, communicating with our lab partners regarding orders
- Handle incoming and outgoing calls and emails, in a professional tone with all clients to handle their appointment requests (scheduling, canceling and rescheduling appts)

- Strong written and oral communication skills are a MUST, while being able to maintain a caring and professional demeanor.

- You are attentive, detail-oriented, organized, and your work reflects all of these characteristics.
- You’re known for doing what you say you’re going to do –Your reputation for honesty and integrity is legendary.
- You don’t know the meaning of “someone else’s problem” or “that’s not my job.” You’re always willing to jump in and help.
