Responsibilities

  • Negotiate individual sales transactions on commission based used truck sales.
  • Monitor and track used truck inventory and flooring expense.
  • Maintain a dispatch board for the repositioning of used trucks sold.
  • Coordinate with Maintenance to ensure trucks are clean, road worthy, and ready to be sold.
  • Coordinate with finance companies on finance packages and credit review activities to qualify buyers.
  • Act as a liaison between the Equipment Department, Maintenance, and new truck buyers to ensure all arrangements are performed satisfactorily for the new truck buyer.
  • Follow up with yard checks on CRE properties around the country, to track used truck inventory and flooring expenses. 
  • Deal with multiple buyers at once.
  • Conflict resolution as it applies to negotiated deals and follow up to those deals.
  • Handle urgent situations in a professional manner.
  • Multi-task as appropriate
  • Responsible for timely sales of trucks for all divisions.
  • Maintain market rate information to accurately price equipment to fair market rates.
  • Utilize and maintain sales performance reporting.
  • Practice and observe safety rules and regulations and encourage others to do so at all times.
  • Always conduct yourself in a manner that reflects a positive, professional image. Must maintain a professional appearance in accordance with policies.
  • Treat each individual with care, dignity, fairness, respect and recognition.

  • Ability to work with office equipment, utilizing computers for majority of tasks and must be familiar with Microsoft Office suite of programs.
  • Knowledge of web based maintenance software as well as transportation management software.
  • Excellent organizational skills required.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail is essential.
  • Ability to react to a high-paced, frequently changing environment.

Qualifications

  • 4 year degree in a specified field or business-related field and commensurate work-related experience preferred. High school diploma or GED required
  • Transportation industry experience preferred.
  • Used vehicle/equipment sales experience, involving business processes like finance sourcing required.
  • Experience managing truck inventory, repositioning drivers, and maintenance.

Working Environment and Conditions:   

  • Must have the ability to work on more than one assignment at a time with frequent interruptions, changes and/or delays.
  • Must be able to remain focused and work effectively, efficiently, and cheerfully under such circumstances.

 Physical Requirements:

  • Capable of hearing, with our without correction, sufficiently to perceive normal speaking levels and receive detailed information through oral communication in order to facilitate meetings and work with internal customers and stakeholders by telephone and in person.
  • Position may involve kneeling, stooping, bending, pushing, lifting, carrying and moving objects that can weigh up to 25 pounds.
  • Capable of sitting at a desk for extended periods of time and working with computer equipment.
  • Capable of speaking, writing, and reading English well and possessing a good command of the language so that various types of communications may be conducted in English with people of various levels of education and capabilities.
  • Capable of visual acuity, with or without correction, sufficient to prepare and analyze data and figures, view a computer terminal, and read extensively.
