Job Description
An award-winning global provider of quality lifting solutions is looking to add a Mobile Service Truck Heavy Equipment
Technician/Mechanic to their growing and successful team of professionals
Job Summary
Work on trucks, truck mounted cranes and railroad equipment
Determine vehicle condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests, identifying worn
and damaged parts
Diagnose electrical and hydraulic system problems and complete necessary repairs and
maintenance
Keeps equipment available for use by completing preventive maintenance schedules, installing
component and part upgrades, controlling corrosion, completing winterization procedures
Correct vehicle deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling,
disassembling, and replacing major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, parts, or systems,
such as, power and drive trains, electrical, air conditioning, fuel, emission, brake, steering,
hydraulics, completes machine shop operations, making adjustments and alignments including
bearing loads, gear tooth contact, valve mechanisms, governors, oil systems, control linkages,
clutches, and traction units
Verify vehicle performance by conducting test drives, adjusting controls and systems
Comply with federal and state vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety, and combustion
control standards
Maintain vehicle appearance by cleaning, washing, and painting
Maintain vehicle records by annotating services and repairs
Keep shop equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting
breakdowns, maintaining supplies, performing preventive maintenance
Contain costs by using warranty, evaluating service and parts options
Keeps supplies ready by working closely with the Parts Department on inventory
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading technical and
regulation publications
Enhance maintenance department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for
accomplishing new and different requests, exploring opportunities to add value to job
accomplishments
Work closely with Services Management to develop and implement target account specific
objectives, strategies, and action plans
Quote prices, bid specifications and maintain records as outlined by management
Answer customer inquiries regarding products, prices, availability and product uses
Monitor customer satisfaction and communicate this information to management
Work with Parts and Service Departments to introduce customers to the other services we
provide
Qualifications and Experience
Candidate must live in the branch location metropolitan area
Specific experience working on brands including but not limited to Kenworth, Sterling,
Palfinger, Fassi, Cormach, Socage, Elliott, Terex and equipment types such as knuckle
booms, man lifts and material handling equipment
5 years of proven Technician/Mechanic experience with heavy-duty truck and truck mounted
equipment expertise in a service workshop environment or mobile road service truck experience
Must be able to read engineering drawings and hydraulic schematics
Self-motivated and disciplined with an ability to work closely with management and customers
Excellent communication, analytical, and problem- solving skills, with the ability to work well
under pressure
Must be dependable and have a valid driver’s license
Good PC Skills: Excel and Word
