Sr. RHEL Engineer

We are hiring an Experienced Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) Senior Engineer to join our team. In this role, you'll play a critical part in maintaining and optimizing a secure and high-performing RHEL infrastructure. You'll oversee key aspects of system administration, configuration, and troubleshooting, ensuring stability and reliability for mission-critical environments. What You'll Do: •Manage and maintain RHEL-based server environments, including installation, configuration, and patch management. •Work on RHEL 7.x/8.x systems, handling daily administration, setup, and maintenance. •Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimization strategies. •Ensure data protection and high availability through robust backup and recovery processes. •Evaluate and recommend hardware and software solutions to meet evolving business needs. •Maintain clear and thorough documentation for system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting. •Mentor and guide junior administrators to help them grow professionally. •Perform vulnerability scans using tools like Tenable and HP WebInspect. •Investigate and address security incidents, mitigate risks, and implement proactive and reactive security measures. What We're Looking For: •U.S. citizenship is required due to federal regulations (dual citizenship cannot be considered). •Active security clearance is necessary for this position. •Ability to work near Annapolis Junction, MD, with flexibility for a 24x7x365 shift-based schedule. Qualifications: •At least 7 years of experience in a senior engineering role or a closely related field. •Demonstrated expertise in RHEL 6.x/7.x/8.x systems. •Proficiency in performing system installations, configurations, maintenance, and troubleshooting. •Hands-on experience with vulnerability assessment tools like Tenable and HP WebInspect.
