Description
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), the Director of Finance will be responsible for overseeing the Finance team. This position is an integral part of FamilyForward's leadership team and will work with key decision makers to establish and review financial goals and objectives, make recommendations to improve operational efficiency and reduce costs, and support program leadership staff in achieving effective utilization of awarded funding. Key activities include assisting with financial reporting, budgeting billing, grants, and day-to-day financial management of the organization.

You will assist the CFO with directing the agency's financial goals and objectives. You will evaluate, maintain, and make recommendations on internal controls and financial processing systems. You will oversee and serve as the lead point of contact for the coordination and activities of independent auditors and the preparation of the annual financial statements, form 990 filings and other regulatory or funder reporting. You will collaborate with the CFO and other members of executive and leadership teams to develop the annual budget and mid-year reforecast. You will ensure timely and accurate completion of general ledger and subsidiary ledgers postings. You will distribute monthly internal financial reports and provides regular feedback and guidance on financial performance to leadership team members. You will review compliance with, recommend changes to, and oversee implementation of financial policies and procedures as directed by executive management. You will supervise the staff responsible for processing accounts payable and payroll activities. You will coordinate with Quality & Compliance team on the accurate and timely entry of contract revenues, accounts receivables, and deposits. You will coordinate with Development team on the accurate and timely entry of contribution and grant revenues. You will maintain restricted gift schedules and reconcile financial transactions with development records. You will provide accurate and timely financial information for grant and funder applications and reports. You will ensure accurate and prompt close of each fiscal period. You will perform treasury functions including bank reconciliations, approval of ACH payments, purchasing card administration, and monitoring of organization cash flows. You will assist with other accounting, fleet operations, administrative, and special projects as necessary. You would be a good fit for this position if you:
Have a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field required. Have 3-5 years' experience in accounting(required). Have knowledge of governmental contracts, grants, not for profit accounting, and comprehensive understanding of fund accounting (highly desirable but not required). Can establish and maintain sound professional relationships with administration, management personnel, other agency staff, clients, and the professional community. Have excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to lead initiatives
