PRIMARY TECHNOLOGY:
.Net Framework Object-Oriented; Programming using C#
SECONDARY TECHNOLOGY:
SQL Server, Azure or AWS Cloud Computing, HTML/JavaScript
Works on the Ohio Trooper Information System (OTIS) with IT Architecture staff, CIO &/or IT Managers to design solutions that meet the agency's requirements:
Assists analysis of the solution design's business case; Authors' portions of the solution business case; Seeks to develop expertise in leading complex initiatives & knowledge of organizational improvement frameworks; Seeks to develop expertise in project management methodologies; Edits or creates for recommendation & approval enterprise or IT artifacts, including, but not limited to, policies, procedures, standards, guidelines, best practices & position papers; Ensures current &/or future business process flows are defined & documented; Conducts detailed alternative analyses & determines end-user requirement(s); Consults with end-users, technicians, vendors, management, & others; leads design reviews; Provides post-production support for applications varying in size, scope & impact to agency operations which may include load balancing, failover, & clustering; Answers questions on technical topics to assist other technical staff in software development OR identifies sources capable of providing answers; Presents technical topics to a diverse group; Develops pass/fail testing criteria; Assesses overall system performance including optimizing code & identifying & resolving peripheral software/hardware conflicts; Oversees performance & load testing; finalizes implementation of plans, procedures & schedules; Conducts lessons learned (testing perspective) & coordinates improvements to enterprise testing processes; Understands technical environments & impacts on software execution in order to identify environmental components to be reviewed for adequacy; Recommends software reusability guidelines; Plans & conducts formal mentorship activities for peers &/or lower-level staff via verbal instruction or technical documentation. Qualifications
60 mos. combined work experience in any combination of the following: providing solutions design, developing project plans with project manager or recommending approach through defining tasks and/or leading meetings relating to programs for computer applications including 12 mos. work experience in the primary technology as specified by the agency position description & job posting.
-Or completion of associate core program in computer science or information systems; 42 mos. combined work experience in any combination of the following: providing solutions design, developing project plans with project manager or recommending approach through defining tasks and/or leading meetings relating to programs for computer applications including 12 mos. work experience in the primary technology as specified by the agency position description & job posting.
-Or completion of undergraduate core program in computer science or information systems; 36 mos. combined work experience in any combination of the following: providing solutions design, developing project plans with project manager or recommending approach through defining tasks and/or leading meetings relating to programs for computer applications including 12 mos. work experience in the primary technology as specified by the agency position description & job posting.
-Or equivalent of minimum class qualifications for employment noted above.
