Job Description

The Blow Mold Technician will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining blow molding machines to produce high-quality plastic containers and products. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with experience in blow molding processes, machine operation, and troubleshooting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate blow molding machines to produce plastic products according to specifications and production schedules.
  • Monitor machine performance, making adjustments as necessary to ensure product quality and consistency.
  • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of blow molding machines, including mold changes, equipment adjustments, and machine calibration.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with blow molding machines, including problems with molds, temperature controls, and hydraulic systems.
  • Inspect finished products for defects, ensuring they meet company quality standards and specifications.
  • Maintain accurate records of production runs, machine settings, maintenance activities, and any adjustments made.
  • Collaborate with the production team to optimize machine performance and production efficiency.
  • Follow all safety procedures and guidelines, ensuring a safe working environment.
  • Assist in training new operators or team members on blow molding processes and machine operation.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, providing input on ways to improve production processes, reduce waste, and enhance product quality.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in plastics manufacturing or a related field is preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Blow Mold Technician or similar role in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of blow molding processes, including machine setup, operation, and maintenance.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, machine manuals, and technical specifications.
  • Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality products.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights and weekends, as needed.
  • Physical ability to lift heavy objects, stand for extended periods, and work in a fast-paced environment.
