What we can offer: A crafted employee experience designed to foster professional growth, a focus on health & well-being and an internal community that will set you up for successThe Opportunity: As a subject matter expert for LG Electronics proprietary controls components and systems integration solutions, the Staff Controls Engineer is expected to perform in both a technical and consultative role in the support of LG Electronics, its distribution partners and end-user customers. Creation, organization and dissemination of technical documentation and tools to facilitate the knowledge transfer and proper application of LG's controls lineup is key to the successful execution of this job function. The Staff Controls Engineer will support the application and development of new and evolving controls products to meet market demands regionally and nationally throughout the North American market. This includes monitoring industry trends and the evolution of controls technologies for opportunities for LG Electronics to grow market share through diversified product offerings. To be effective in this endeavor, the LG Electronics Staff Controls Engineer will establish and maintain relationships with colleagues within LG's factories, North American sales and rep teams, and industry associations.As the Controls Engineer, you will:Controls Engineering: Applications support for controls to internal and external customers, design requirements, and software development.Design LG Electronics proprietary controls components and systems integration solutions based on project specifications.Support proper controls application for field projects through creating applications materials, providing product/applications training to sales and reps, and working with sales and reps on specific applications challenges.Define product/feature requirements and effectively communicate with the factory through product/feature development process.Test software in development to ensure requirements are met and communicate abatement requirements.Qualifications: Bachelor of Science in ME, EE, Computer Science or equivalent is required.8+ yr. experience in HVAC Controls or embedded system industry is required.NPI: product requirement definition, product details/operation, strategic application, and positioning.Experience in system integration testing of protocol-based communicating subsystems.Control R&D experience with HVAC company or Controller a plus.Understanding of electrical and network wiring preferred.Understanding of standard HVAC Hardware components and design of these components preferred.Excellent computer skills and familiarity with MS-Office products (Word, Excel, Access). Knowledge and programming experience of centralized and individualized control systems is preferred.Global applied residential and commercial air conditioning industry experience a plus.Experience solving various control issues on customer's site.Korean reading, writing, and speaking skills are mandatory.Occasional domestic/international travel is required.
